And they're going to get rid of the soulless "sand volleyball" name and call it "beach volleyball" as God intended. The NCAA is on a roll.

I'll be very interested to see who gets named to the six person management committee (please, please put at least one or two people who know the sport on it), and how they handle venue selection for the NCAA championship.

And just in time to bring the championship tournament to the West Coast, where it belongs.

Also, any word on UCLA's facilities? Will they likely have their matches on campus by then? Last I saw, they only had two sand courts at Sunset Rec but I could be wrong.

Last I saw, they only had two sand courts at Sunset Rec but I could be wrong. This year they brought in Ivey Schmitt, Elise Zappia, Laurel Weaver, Kristin Phillipp and Kendahl Hettick (Pepp transfer). Next year there's the McNamara twins, Isabelle Carey, Kristen Kiehnle and Zana Muno crossing over from indoor. McNamaras and Muno would be the real hotshots but I think everyone's been playing in the local CBVA tourneys with some success so there should be some depth to the squad now. I think indoor crossovers are going to be relatively scarce starting this year. I think there will be duals held at Sunset Rec this year.

Add in a couple of others like Buechler and 2016 indoor recruit Van Winden (who's mom is one of the Strand twins, good pro beach players back in the day), and Steino is going to have some nice options to work with.

Kind of seems like the recruits for the indoor team have been recruited to make the beach team better. Can that be true? If so, I don't know what Sealy is allowing.

Kylie Miller will be playing beach too, anyway in 2016, it will be a fierce battle in the west between USC/UCLA/Pepp and Hawaii, hard to believe only 3 will advance to the NCAA tourney.

Oh, I don't think that's really the case. Most of the players mentioned are sand-only players, and two way players like Muno and Van Winden are big-time indoor recruits.

Is she the setter from out in the 909? Didn't know she played beach, I don't think I've ever come across her before. Is Nguamo still at UCLA? She certainly adds depth/experience to the beach team. BTW, I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but Meg Norton is now at USC (grad school) and it looks like she'll be slotted in the #2 pair with Alexa Strange.

Being a Bruin fan, I hate to hear that but I'm glad she's playing one more year after how her season ended last year.
