Kylie Miller will be playing beach too, anyway in 2016, it will be a fierce battle in the west between USC/UCLA/Pepp and Hawaii, hard to believe only 3 will advance to the NCAA tourney. Is she the setter from out in the 909? Didn't know she played beach, I don't think I've ever come across her before. Is Nguamo still at UCLA? She certainly adds depth/experience to the beach team. BTW, I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but Meg Norton is now at USC (grad school) and it looks like she'll be slotted in the #2 pair with Alexa Strange. Yes, Ngauamo is still at UCLA. Tan is still there as well. Will that duo be UCLA's #1 again?

Dumb question, I realize, but is Sevana Dvorak Dusty's daughter? Niece. She's the daughter of Rudy Dvorak, who was a hell of a player in his own right.

Thanks Geddy - agreed - they were both awesome - I remember Dusty more, I think, because he was the setter for one of the four teams on the short-lived four-person Bud Light Tour - those were some pretty good matches back in the day, especially watching Netty and Jenny playing 4's before their long beach partnership, etc!!! Before I even clicked on the link, my first thought was "the only thing I know about FGCU sand is that Brooke Sweat went there."

Stanford has said that they are not giving out sand scholarships nor are they able to offer any kind of admissions assistance to sand players UNTIL it becomes a championship sport. So, if true, that would make her a walk-on who happened to be both fortunate and smart enough to get into Stanford on her own. The coaches have met with beach players and suggested what they should do to maximize their chance of admission, but apparently do not have any kind of preferred admissions list.
Presumably, beginning with the 2016 incoming class of recruits, this will all change for the Northern California schools, and they will begin offering scholarships.

Women's sand Vball is the fastest growing sport in the history of the NCAA. Fastest to emerge and a very bright future ahead. Hawaii, FSU and Pepp will be the top teams. The National Championships will expand to an 8 team championships up from 6 last year. The NCAA is extremely excited about sand volleyball as it is a completely new sport.
