Kilic is still in Turkey; why did you think she went to Russia? IIRC, Kilic has never played in the Russian league. C4ndle thinks you're talking about Lioubov Sokolova(-Shashkova-Kilic). She married a Turkish volleyball player a number of years ago, Aytac Kilic, she is since divorced and has dropped that name. She played for Fener.. but now is back in Russia playing for Dynamo Krasnodar. I was referencing Mislina, not Soko. Krasnodar is scary good this year! Garay, Fabiola, Kosheleva and Soko...I'm surprised they're not outpacing Kazan and Moscow.

She just served like four aces in a row to put her team in the lead after being down in the second set.

Unfortunately her team seems to be having passing issues and they're not utilizing their middles at all.

I never got the video feed going, but it appears that Micah was used as a serving sub.

Micha's placement improved every year under Rose, proving success to his trend of developing OHs into world-class setters. This is slightly misleading. Glass and Hancock were both setters before arriving in Happy Valley, each even setting for youth USA teams while in high school. Both had high-level experience setting the ball before Rose got a hold of them. They weren't recruited to attack, though each had the ability to, so implying that he completely changed their positions when they arrived on campus isn't true.

Neither was a pure setter until their stints with the youth national teams. I'm impressed with the way Rose improved both of their games, because neither setter was that awe-inspiring as freshmen. Both Glass and Hancock became NPOY material by the time they were seniors, defeating other setters who have been purely setting their entire lives. I contribute a lot of that to Rose.

Hancock's performance, or the team's hitting percentage if you will, improved markedly for her senior year at PSU. What changed? They lost three AA hitters, added three top drawer freshmen, and added Salima. Hmmm.....

Going by this logic, Carlini was also a hitter in the club videos I saw. Does that make her not a "pure" setter as well?

Just because they could hit and did hit occasionally does not mean that Rose completely retrained them to play a new position. The original poster made it seem like they hadn't set a ball before college. Hancock and Glass were setters before Rose.

Thanks psumaui for posting that youtube 10-point serving run by Micha (with 3 Aces). Lots of fun. I swear I heard a few chants of "Micha Hancock" from the crowd.
