Today's run by Micha! Look familiar? If she keeps serving like this I could definitely see her on the National team. I think she would make a far better serving sub than Lichtman or Miyashiro.

Today's run by Micha! Look familiar? I thought they pass only nails in the international games? What happened? Who is this Micha girl that's killing them?

I was saying this since her freshman year and got laughed at here on VT. Where's that AA11 or Pelc11 guy, btw? Wondering if he's still laughing now?

Thanks psumaui for posting that youtube 10-point serving run by Micha (with 3 Aces). Lots of fun. I swear I heard a few chants of "Micha Hancock" from the crowd. THANK YOU!!!! It was amazing to see her "bring it" in the Italian league!

I'm not trying to put any words in Duncaroo’s mouth, but I understood his comment as saying Hancock graduated with just as many accolades and accomplishments as Larson, Foluke, Harmotto, Hodge and Hooker. Dunc later went on to say that Micha doesn’t have 3 years to train with the NT to prepare her for Rio. I think that’s a fair assessment, but I hope Micha proves him wrong and gets on the roster à la Harmotto in 2012 at the last minute. I''ll say this, the second setter roster spot for RIO is wide open. CT, if she is in the lead is because she has experience, is a solid player and great teammate. I think she is great, but is that a great criteria/resume for a spot on the Olympic team? I would like to think someone could bring more to the table. I say this as someone who really respects CT. Well I think CT is in the lead, due to the very important factor you have left out, she has proven that she can run Karch's offense and produce points off the bench. I understand Micha only had a week or so playing under Karch, but she needs to prove that she can set the system before moving up the depth chart. Will that happen in a year and a half? Who knows.

Certainly CT would be in the lead given her experience. As I said she has proven that she is a serviceable player, but USA volleyball I am sure, would like to have a player who could step in where the expectation would be more. Have no idea if that player could be Hancock, I just know given the pool of players it could be any of them including Hancock.

Today's run by Micha! Look familiar? Thanks for posting this! Gotta love it when your server can completely disrupt the opponent: Burn their timeouts, force them into a double sub, get the coach cursing on the sidelines, etc. Great stuff!

It was a very nice run, but the coach let Hancock play out the rest of the set, and her setting was pretty poor and they lost the lead she built pretty quickly. She also didn't get much traction, if any, in any of her other service runs. Very nice stretch of serves, but a long way to go and way too early for some of the "I Told Ya So" posts above.

I havent really read any "I told you so" posts, but as a server anyone suggesting I told you so, was correct. Certainly she like ALL players is going to have some growing pains making the jump.

BUT, this was her first game in a mid-tier level international match. If she starts to become successful, teams (both club and national) will start to prepare more for her. There are many examples of players who were incredible servers in college (Jordan Larson for one) who had a great deal of initial success internationally but then were brought back down to "normal" numbers over time, especially against elite competition.

Has there ever been a setter who improved significantly after college? We've known for years Hancock would never be a high level setter, and considering she was in the zone after an eight point serving run and unable to set at a high level proves she'll only be on the NT as a serving sub if that. I personally enjoy watching her aces but Lichtman's bottom dropping floats could be more effective if only due to fewer service errors.
