Like it or not, the US team is a totally different team with her on the floor. Winning the gold in Rio starts and ends with them reconciling whatever it is that keeps the parties at odds. While this isnt the greatest of competition we dont have ANYONE who can do what she is doing. I love how high and flat she is hitting. Big time.

This is an ego thing for both of them. Hooker needs to give Karch a way out to save face for her to be back on team or we will be watching the Rio Olympics wondering, if we lose, what could have been!!! It's also Karch's job as coach to make it work and field the best players possible to go for gold.

So we add just this one player and you think we will win gold? ...it doesn't work like that. However, has anyone heard how long her recovery might take though? Hoping it's not too long.

Whoever we put out there with Hooker on the team or not...they only have the POTENTIAL to win gold, it depends how they execute the game plan and adjust to the other team. I thought we would win gold last time as well, look what happened? I have definitely learned to keep my dreams in check. The most important thing is they represent the USA well and try to play the best they can, not the finish.

However, the coach's job is to field the best TEAM, not the best "players", which I think that many people are forgetting or not understanding.

With hooker on the floor, we have our BEST chance at winning gold. Hooker is top 5 in the world, not for her position, but overall. Her defense, while not GREAT, is better than murphys. Murphy is great and I've been a fan, but hooker is just better than her. The ONLY person I think that is more important to team USA is larson, and thats only for her leadership and defense (Although she does struggle with that at times).

Yeah but what kind annoys me is everyone makes it seem like whoever we put out on the floor all 6 players or the current opps whatever don't have the potential to get it done as well. That's my issue here. I don't think just having Hooker on the team or Logan Tom etc necessarily would increase our chances of winning a gold that much. They still have to execute just like whoever we send. Anyone the coaching staff chooses to field is a capable player its just going to be about consistency. I hope and pray that somehow Brasil gets knocked out before the final match or some upsets go well that help us. I'd really rather not have to play them again in the gold medal match. They have kicked our butt two times in a row now very handily, no matter who we have out there in the final match anyways. But it's in brasil this time... don't see that happening. Hopefully we can pull it off a win like we did in the world champs if that happens but Brasil too good of finding a way to snatch it from us. But at the same time I'm content as long as they try their best out there, shocking early exit, gold sivler or bronze, whatever. Revenge would be great though.

Did I say that if we added this one player we would win Gold? I don't believe we automatically win Gold if she plays. I do believe our chances are GREATLY enhanced if she does. I don't believe we could win Gold without a scorer of her ability.

Having the best players on the floor ALWAYS increases your chances of winning. Of course there are other variables, execution, cohesion, etc.....but the number one determiner at that level is talent. There is no way around that.

I believe Dorothy's implication was that it will greatly improve our chances, and, yeah, it does kinda work like that. Ever heard of Kim Yeon-Koung and Team South Korea? Destinee should be back by this summer. She has a few stretched ligaments, and one of them is halfway torn. She has an excellent support staff in Korea taking care of her.

Impressed most with her back row attack only four feet off the net. Would love to see her and the right setter (not Glass) implement real bics of the men's game.
