Some of said coaches get top notch talent (won't name names, it's not cook btw) and under a lot of other coaches, would be legit AA, but they don't flourish. So while It doesn't discount them, it does make it harder. But people like rose are brilliant at developing talent. I think if you asked lots of folks who know, you would consistently here, Shoji, Jmac, Cook, Rose, but also people like Skinner, Shondell, Sheffield as well as several mid-major coaches. For example Is anyone doing a better job than the guy at Western Kentucky? The coach a Western KY is doing a great job developing players and the program. A lot of his players that he has on the floor have come from KIVA, so they have been getting high level training and playing at a high level. The girls who go there may not be the highest recruits, but he got a great get with reigning C-USA FOY Alyssa Cavanaugh. Their recruiting is starting to pick up with a few good recruits for 2015 and they have a standout setter from Munciana coming in for the class of 2017.

I am sorry but how is this even a question... Shoji is by far the best at developing talent. Recruiting that is a different story but solely developing talent is Shoji. I mean look at Hartong. She was a decent get at middle but nothing like some of her competitors. Dave Shoji made her into an AA OH! Brittany Hewitt obviously was another great example. Also, how about Ali Longo! I mean she was a decent libero at Penn State. Nothing like Alyssa Derrico the year before. But when she came to Hawaii she suddenly became one of the top liberos in the country. Personally, I thought she was the second best libero under Hagglund. IMO it is not even a question who is the best at developing talent. I have to disagree with you about Ali that she was one of the top liberos in the country. I'm happy for her that she found a home where she was a starter and she is a good player but in my opinion, still would have not started in place of Dom. Did she make Dave's team better? An emphatic yes, but that is as far as it goes. I watched Ali thru her playing days both at Penn State and Hawaii and saw no real difference in her play. What I saw from her both at Penn State and Hawaii was her inconsistent play at a high level remained the same.

You know exactly what I am talking about. Don't play dumb and don't take it personal. We are talking about the 2012 season. Ali left in the Spring. Had she stayed, I do not believe she would have started over Dom. Carp,Dom and Ali all played in 2011. BTW. Dom played in almost all of the 2011 matches as a Freshman. Russ was working her into lineup her first year and I could see by Dom's play that the writing was on the wall for 2012.

I don't think she would have been starter in 2012 had she stayed.

That made her transfer a no-brainer. She got a scholarship and was a starter at Hawaii. It looks like a win-win situation.

Do I think Ali would start in place in Dom in 2012? No. But I do think ali was definitely top 6 in the nation her senior year. She had the same votes as orlandini I believe in the regional voting, but didn't make the regional team. Ali was the MOST consistent player in 2013, and made digs that were phenomenal. Do I think she deserved AA? Of course not. But I do think she deserved HM
