Why? Did Minnesota beat Michigan last year? No. Did Michigan split with Ohio? Yes. Sure, Michigan, once again, has the toughest B1G schedule, and yes, they lose a tremendous setter and person in Lexi Dannemiller. But what else, have they lost versus gained? Nothing. 4 quality players, including the highest rated High School player, according to Prep Volleyball, in Carly Skjodt have arrived. They also get back a healthy Kelly Murphy and Ally Davis, start the season with a healthy Claire Kieffer Wright, add one of the best DS/L's in the class in Jenna Lerg from Legacy, have as good a backrow as any team in the conference, and gained experience at a ton of positions last season. So in spite of having a very tough schedule, ranked #1 nationally in SOS, I believe in them and think there are more than a few reasons that others shouldn't sleep on them. That includes you, Badgers, as you are one of the youngest teams in the conference. You do know that you have 5 players on your roster that actually played significant number of sets of D1 volleyball in 2014? You also know that Michigan had you dead to rights at Ann Arbor last year and you wriggled off of the hook (down 10-12 in set 5). So yes, your returners are very talented, but there are a TON of questions as players make the transition to D1 and the B1G. 4th in the conference might be a little high, but for those that predict Wisconsin as 4 in the nation are REALLY elevated. It's On Wisconsin, and every other B1G opponent. Best of luck to all. Dude... we ALWAYS split with Michigan. You have no real reason to rank them above MN or tOSU going into this season. Both did better last year and return more. Wouldn't rank Michigan in front of TOFU or Minnie to start the year but believe that Maize and Blue finishes ahead of both. Also, neither returns as much as UMich. One Senior graduated: Dannemiller.

The senior player of the year award is based on high school (not club) achievements, I believe. Although it's a huge award, the "senior aces" are a more comprehensive ranking. I'm sure she's a great player, just not "the highest rated high school player" as you stated. Although all of these lists are a bit subjective anyway. Carry on. Which is exactly what I said. Per PVb, te best High School Player. Never mentioned club nor Aces. Don't try to incorrectly correct me and then be dismissive. A simple, "you are right" works well.

Typically when people refer to a player's rating theyre referring to where they land on the senior aces. Winning a poy award doesnt mean they are the highest rated player, it means that according to prepvolleyball they had the biggest impact on their team and state during their high school season

Look, I'm not sure if you're trying to be difficult or if you're actually not getting it. I tried being nice. The bottom line is that she's not the highest rated high school player, Hayley Hodson is.

Go Blue Even without our freshman setter, we have our TWO returning setters from last year who played every point of every match. Again, all starters for MN are returning.

I'm not being difficult. I simply said that Skjodt was named the High School Player of the Year by Prep Volleyball. You felt a need to correct me, and yet you failed. I am fully aware, know and agree that Hayley Hodson is the highest rated Freshman coming into college ball this year and was listed as the #1 Senior Ace. Did you know that she didn't even play high school ball last year? Carry On

4 quality players, including the highest rated High School player, according to Prep Volleyball, in Carly Skjodt have arrived. This is what you said, which is not true.

Maybe it will be tighter than the 21, 18, 19 sweep of last year with your "exact same team" and Michigan's "almost exact same team." Broom 'em.

Broom 'em. Where these two team play seems to be more relevant to the outcome other than the 2011-12 season where they each won on the opposing team's court: 2014: @michigan Michigan 3-0 2013: mn MN 3-1 @michigan MN 3-0 (an anomaly) 2012: mn MN 3-1 @michigan Michigan 3-0 2011: @michigan MN 3-2 mn Michigan 3-0 I didn't go back further as I know for a fact when Gibbenmeyer played MN never won at Michigan, even when MN went to the FF in 2009, so that would cover the previous 4-5 years.
