I choked on my spit for a bit.....Wisconsin is a "traditional power" to you but Florida and Washington are not? yeah, you lost a lot of volleytalkers with that. The TRADITIONAL powers are Stanford and Penn State.....and then Nebraska, USC, Texas (bolstered by their recent success)...You can have "HISTORICAL" powers like UCLA, LBSU, Hawaii, Pacific and RECENT top 10 stalwarts like, yes, Washington, Florida, Wisconsin etc....but to say that Wisconsin is a traditional power is silly, and saying Wisconsin in comparison to Florida and especially Washington is a traditional power is just flat out stupid. I obviously need to apologize for what I said lol. I misspoke. I definitely don't think Wisconsin is on the same level of any of the other teams we're discussing (Nebraska, UT, Stanford, PSU, USC). I included them because I think they're comparable to Florida (one national championship appearance each) and should have been more clear about that. My bad. Its all good

I am a god, just not THE God This is blasphemy. LC will and, due to the essence of her being, must smite all pretenders. Beware.

Its all good WI has two national championship appearances. They were up 2-0 against NE in 2000 (off the top of my head) and lost in 5.

They definitely wouldn't be included in THE 4 traditional powers... Look at Nebraska, Wisconsin, USC, Texas... Wisconsin/Minn., (more) Ohio State-really, and to some extent Illinois and Michigan have been "traditionals" in the Big-10.

As far as I'm concerned, "traditional power" is open to wide interpretation. The only real traditional power right now is Penn State. The only other schools to win national championships in the last decade are Texas (2012), UCLA (2011), Nebraska (2006), and Washington (2005). Stanford last won in 2004 and USC in 2003. Wisconsin has never won.
Personally, I really don't care who is or is not a "traditional power".
In the larger NCAA frame, Women's volleyball is pretty much an afterthought.
