I would have called it "just desserts" then. Like I said, I had emotional ties, so reason is fleeting in those moments.

I understand the strategy aspect, but as a Wentworth parent/fan I found it incredibly disrespectful. I'm sure that is just emotional bias on my part, but I that is where I am at about it. I can see your point and think it was disrespectful however there was more to the situation that lead to the situation and it was not done out of disrespect. Wentworth took advantage of the situation and won the set.

Crazy how a team that was undefeated this year with 5 all americans and rookie of the year lost to a team with barely 1 all american and a honorable mention.

Crazy how a team that was undefeated this year with 5 all americans and rookie of the year lost to a team with barely 1 all american and a honorable mention. Happens all the time. It's all about who gets hot when. The top team(s) almost never win the NCAA championship in basketball. They get knocked out by a Yale or middle Tennessee. And this was much less shocking. Carthage played an average schedule at best during the season. They lost to a talented Stevenson team who was not only better than them last night, but in my opinion better in almost all positions.

1. This isn't basketball. 2. If Stevenson was better than them in every position, why aren't all of them All Americans?
Just another example of the lack of validity of Midwest teams who year after year, are hyped up, and do nothing...

The Midwest is overrated. This is a fact not fiction. They're bigger but not better. Carthage once again comes east and gets handled. Match should have been over in 3. Now, let's talk about the final 4.
Stevenson is better than people thought for the most part. Their freshman oh is a stud and will carry that team for the next three years.
Stevens is hanging around, quietly and has probably the best all around game play outside of new Paltz. The UVC simply produces quality volleyball. (Side note, what on earth was with Rutgers?)
Springfield was by far the most impressive team yesterday. They embarrassed an atrocious Kean team. Springfield looked like men and proved they are deserving once again of whatever they get. And Sullivan proved once again why he is the best coach in d3.
New Paltz was overall unimpressive but did they have to be? They're the team to beat, especially with two head to head wins over SC.

Just another example of the lack of validity of Midwest teams who year after year, are hyped up, and do nothing... 1. This is still sports. Choose any sport you want, basketball, football, golf, table tennis. Upsets happen, thats why the play the games and didn't just crown New Paltz champs as the #1 seed. 2. Many reasons. One being the biased selection criteria. Also the percieved notion that players on a better team are better than players on a worse team. The third string DS on Carthage is probably better than a starter at msoe or wherever, but the opinion that Carthage is so good sways beliefs.

My understanding is that when NP had their practice at the NCAA's they had a competition between the starters and second team, winner gets the start vs Wentworth. Second team stepped up.
