Someone said Nick/Phil were playing Sean/Theo in Round 2. WTF? I was so excited for that. If those two don't play this week I am going to be pissed. I haven't looked forward to a match that much in a long time. This was my seed prediction (would have been a #4 vs #5 match up) before the AVP gave Phil injury points to bump them up to the #2 seed. More great fan service from the AVP! I think that match likely happens anyway. All four guys will be all kinds of fired up. Plus if Sean/Theo lose to Casey/Jake and then make it to the semis, which I think is the most likely result, that puts them in line to play Nick/Phil. As long as Theo/Sean dont dump to Ryan/Mayer, I think it happens

Anyone know why there wasnt more qualifier participation? I would have thought a lot of teams would have played there before moving on to Seaside

NO Hudson, Burik or Topple. 3 high/Q players besides the Bumgrens. No VanderWerp all season either. I thought the quality was there though. The NVL didn't have any teams I'd say would normally play AVP

Its choppy but right side up not sideways and close to the action so somewhat better. Not NVL level but ok

Sean/Theo vs. Page/Lochhead on right now.
Ugly on both sides so far.

Really ugly. Is it me or does Page look bulked up a little

Page seems to move ok. Seen him come off the net to chase a dig a couple times...not bad.
His shots are bad, doesn't jump.

This is the worst I have seen him play this year. Brunner blocking him well, but I like Page's attitude also. He is outhustling Rosenthal. He needs a little better vision when he swings, but I dont see why he couldnt contend with a better partner

what would be a bigger upset? Ed and Will beating Mayer/Avatar or this match?

Id say Ed and Will. I hate the "they just wanted it more" cliche but I think it applies here. Theo/Sean just expected to win and Sean was at his worse, giving up on balls etc, whereas Lochead and Page covered a ton of blocks, were really positive and seemed like they were working harder.
Also why do teams always start on Page? Every time I have seen them play it seems like the other team starts by serving the 7'1 guy, then when they get behind they go to the Kiwi midget who isnt a great jumper. Odd strategy
