Oof. That was a beatdown. Yeah I feel like if Misty was in better shape might have been different. It's amazing she did as well as she did for someone who had the achilles soloeus injury and recently a baby. I was worried anytime she got contorted she might get hurt. Maybe this will spark a fire and she will want to play more? Who knows.

But she's been pretty clear that there is no comeback in the works. But it would be fun if she decided to play some more AVP events - I'd definitely spend some time around her court if she plays the MBO.

I doubt one was in the works anyway but if she made the final or was really competitive here, she would have to think about it. She had to be thinking all weekend about how easy a comeback would be given how weak the tour is right now, but this beatdown may have given her some context about how much work that would actually take. Id love to see more though.

Actually I was wondering about Manhatten Beach because Kerri isn't coming back until Long Beach. Maybe Brit lined someone else for that already and just asked for Misty to fill in for this one time. Like Geddy says who knows?

GLM you know more about the tour and the players than anyone here so I put this question to you. Fopma sprains her ankle in the final and can't go next week. April picks up Misty. Are they the favorites at Manhattan?

Are they the favorites at Manhattan? Well, I'm kinda guessing, but I don't think so, only because I question whether Misty's body will hold up over three days. She's 38, not in great shape and the sand in Manhattan is deep (the sand in Seattle looked pretty hard-packed, which made things a little easier for her). I think on Friday, April/Misty could beat any team in the field. But those legs are going to be awfully tired when she wakes up Saturday morning...and by Sunday? I'd like to see it though - and I'm sure Donald Sun would too. Misty playing MBO would get a lot of play in the local media.

As Geddy pointed out, just don't see Misty being able to hang long enough physically in the conditions of MB. Unfortunately hot weather and the MB sand wouldn't be a great combo for her at this point in time.
Would love to see her run it with Brittany again though!

Yeah, weather forecast I saw is mid-80's and sunny. Going to get very warm on the sand. Also, it's 32 team main draw, meaning more matches packed into a three day tournament.

Was/is Summer bump setting full time now? Not full time, but possibly more than previously? It sounded like she had sets called a few times in match 1 vs. May/Hochevar but I recall a few hand sets still in the semifinal against them and the final against Fopma/Ross
