I know it's early but who do you think are the top National POY candiates this year? Who do you think it'll be?

As of right now...
Bricio...and there is nobody else really in the discussion. Middles almost never get it, the most decorated returning setters are on teams that are losing too many matches, and Bricio is on a a top 2 team in the ACVA poll (which counts for a lot considering it's an AVCA award). Frankly, Taylor doesn't play for a team that will get her POY and Courtney, to date, doesn't have the stats.
Anyone who isn't picking Bricio (by a wide margin) at this point can't be taken seriously. It's just THAT obvious.

Its got to be Bricio. Taylor has got the stats but is playing on a team that will not get her the nod. Its unfortunate but a reality.

Hawaii is ranked #10 and climbing, and winning the title or at least making the final four is not farfetched. If you're thinking Hawaii's tradition is not on par with the others, you must be joking. Hawaii has had 4 POYs in 6 seasons. Deitre Collins (82, 83), Teee Williams (87, 89), Angelica Lundquist (96) and Kim Willoughby (2003).

I'm thinking for freshman of the year Nebraska's Mikaela Foecke has to be a serious candidate.
As for POY, there are a LOT of candidates. Megan Courtney from PSU continues to impress.

I think Bricio and Courtney are slightly ahead of other candidates. Bricio may be the front runner with better stats than Courtney, but those who watch the impact Courtney has on overall game, knows she is the best blocking and defending OH in college.

These two have been consistently excellent. I agree completely about Megan's all-aroundness. Hitting, blocking, digging, passing is reminiscent of Jordan Larson when she was @ Nebraska. She doesn't have Jordan's deadly serve though. So far both of these two have pretty much been money in the bank in "GO TO" situations.

If Hawaii makes it to the final four and she continues to be on her game Nikki Taylor can certainly get the nod, as of now she is a legit First Teamer along with Bricio and Courtney

True....but I also think that USC has a better chance of reaching the final four than Hawaii does, at this point in the season.
