Interesting. Pretty much the entire Minnesota VB team tried out in February, and there are zero Gophers on the China roster.

3 went last year and 1 the year before probably declined it if offered for this year. Just guessing though

Good point. Maybe they wanted to go to Europe instead. Would they get to say, "No thanks, do you have any openings on the Europe team?" Otherwise, why try out if you're going to decline?

Not so sure that would be a good thing for Hugh McCutcheon to do, send his entire team to a tryout, only to decline any possible offers? Sounds like something that would strain relationships.

Very good link, was able to see some tryout sessions, and if anyone else watched video, who is that #18 in pink jersey. Looks like she had an excellent tryout. Good in every position.

Surprised to not see any Chinese players on the "China Team" roster.

These must be their American names.

Maybe because the China trip is in June and the Europe trip in usually in July. With upper class men attending first session of summer, it's hard to attend a June event.

Teams have basically been selected. Calling players to confirm the teams now. Will be released by next week.

I was a little surprised to see that there isn't at least one of Hannah Tapp, Nikki Taylor, or Kelsie Payne on the China team roster, especially because I don't think (keyword there, think) Fitzmorris or Thompson were on Karch's NT simulation court the final day of tryouts whereas I think (again, think) that all of Tapp, Taylor, and Payne were. I would expect two those three to be on the Europe team roster, unless some of them are just being put straight onto the national team. I'm excited to find out!

Just guessing though The team is largely composed of 2015 Sophomores and Freshman: Juniors (2), Sophomores (5), Freshmen (4), HS (1). They are all first time selections. Looks to me like they're trying to spread the butter. One also can't assume that factors making for a top "college" player are the same for an "international" player. They still need to select the Junior National Team. Some Minny players could still be selected for that.

JNT will be girls born in 98 and 99.
