Personally I find that libero battle most intriguing.

Interesting. Will they take 12 or 14 players? It doesn't say when the training block is, or when the final roster will be announced.

It's interesting they moved Kelsie Payne from RS (played RS at Kansas 2015) to Middle for Pan Am tryouts.
JWO is great, but I would not count Nolan out as she is money on serve receive, and reads the block well so she picks up a lot of digs without being as athletic as JWO or many other libero.
Ink Carlini in as one of the setters, and pretty sure Hancock will be the other setter.
I also think Nikki Taylor will be one of the RS selected because she can terminate and she is the best passing/digging of the three RS trying out.

Love it that Carlini is listed as being from the University of Washington. If only...

Just wanted to note it looks like there have been 3 changes to the members of this team; *'s in the player list "denotes players who have dropped from program for personal reasons" (Same link as above post- for those interested just look for *'s and #'s in the players' list for those dropped and added.) Thanks to BeBe in the Allbuffs forum for the heads up, and as a Colorado Buff fan extra congrats to Cierra Simpson (along with the other 2 young women Teegen Van Gunst and Brittany Jessen) for being added to the team.

Has Payne ever played 6 rotations? I think she was a middle during her last club season. It makes sense that they would look at her as a middle right now since in the international game the substitution rules are different than the college game (unless they want to go the senior team's route with the double sub). All 3 of the RSs on the senior team could play 6 rotations if necessary and still score at a high level from the BR.

When you watch Payne play you may tell she spent most of her club years in middle by her hitting approach. Her ability to jump with a one-step then jump off two feet is outstanding, but looks a bit odd on the pins (she still was unstoppable on the RS at Kansas). To answer your question.......I have never seen her play 6 rotations, but that does not mean she has not done so; she does go back to serve and play defense for her serve but never seen her in serve receive.

Teams are selected - I heard it was by lottery - not by player ranking. Should be really fun to watch!
