Purdue projected to finish on bottom half of the Big and going to 5 with Stanford. So? Minnesota and PSU was projected to finish in the top half of the big 10 and Stanford took care of them. I think Stanford going 3-1 against big 10 tourney quality teams is pretty great, especially given that they have 4 frosh in the floor.

We've seen teams start slow before that arnt same team by end of season. It happens every year. Too early to predict

If you're gonna trash talk, you better wait for the actual win.

Nobody in the league had really been winning impressively besides Nebraska. Everyone needs to slow down and breathe.

Also - personally, I would have waited for the final result of the Stanford-Purdue match before firing a shot across the bows of flyover country, but I admire the confidence. Edit: Annnd, Furd snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. Still on meds from double total knee replacement surgeries a couple of weeks ago. If only I'd a been there, haha... Hope the VB community has been stirred up enough pre-season for another great year. Sory, bonk..

to be fair. the Pac-12 didn't have a banner day either....going 8-6....Stanford losing to Purdue, Cal losing to West Virgina (WTF!) shouldn't have happened. The Pac-12 also didn't win the two toss up matches of the day Colorado/San Diego and Arizona/Texas A&M.
I think the non Pac-12/Big 10 teams are going get a far number of tourney teams this year.

I believe that mostly but until someone shows me they can hang with Nebraska I'd have to say it's a great year to see who gets runner up. Lol

Historical backdrop: I've been on this board for over 13 years and being a Stanford grad have been on the defensive for at least 10 of those years by threads created by fans of East of the Mississippi River dominated conferences about how overrated were conferences on the western side of the mighty Missipp. Payback, (R) and others. Take away the Big 12 runaway interloper, Nebraska, the Big 10 would be even further behind the Pac 12 and WCC than it is unexpectedly already. Is Minnesota, the Big 10's seemingly other high quality team (which earlier lost 3-0 to and at Stanford) the only B1G worthy of a top 20 ranking? Sheesh!! This certainly shows longevity (13 years) doesn't equate to being perceptive.

Stanford was ahead 7-4 in the 5th, then lost 8 straight points. EIGHT. E-I-G-H-T.
Not quite as bad as Penn State's 5th set at Colorado (losing 15-3), but still. Eight!

As said, lots of identity issues for everyone except Big Red.
Also a few top 20 teams showing a lack of depth at this point in the season.
I wouldn't get too excited about any loss or any win at this point (*Joe Sagula should have a big smile at least)

They weren't too impressive on an eager Arkansas team. Me thinks New Mexico is chomping their lips in that high altitude! GO HUSKERS

I think Nebraska should not listen to fans on the Internet, social media and in general the state of Nebraska. You never know how it will effect the minds of 18 to 22 year olds. This Nebraska team, so far, has kept the pedal to the medal. NU has a lot of experience but each class is well represented. A mature team in more ways than one. In my mind, right now, the 2016 Nebraska team's greatest opponent for the year will be itself. Time will tell as the season plays out.
