True, but my point was the fact that they are GOING 5 with so many matches including teams like Pittsburgh, Towson, Princeton, Ole Miss, Green Bay whether they win or lose them, kind of proves the point that the Big 10 isn't this dominant force. the best? yes, I 100% agree, dominant or that much better than the Pac-12? no. I knew you were gonna do that. U can't pick and choose only what suits your point. Your reaching. if you say so, but I'm not changing my comments either way. ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png)

Thus far Pac has the head to head edge 6-5. I'm predicting an 8-5 season but who knows what surprises could occur with Maryland. Purdue 3, Washington State 1 Wisconsin 3, University of Arizona 0 Stanford 3, Minnesota 1 Iowa 3, Arizona State 0 Nebraska 3, Oregon State 0 Stanford 3, Illinois 2 Colorado 3, Penn State 2 Stanford 3, Penn State 0 Colorado 3, Illinois 2 Oregon 3, Illinois 0 Purdue 3, Stanford 2 Maryland vs USC Maryland vs Washington Also, Washington is NOT a #6 team. They could struggle with MD I'm not sure how you can say Wa is not a #6 team. This is basically the same team from last year which played Nebraska in the quarters a helluva lot closer than Texas did in the finals. And Nebraska is picked number 1 not because they have had a difficult season thus far but because of what they did last year. If UW beats Hawaii today they should be moved to top 5. If they lose then 15-25 somewhere.

Also we are often HIDING our libero in serve receive....lots of missed plays in the backcourt on defense...we lost two of our most effective servers in strickland and wade....we lost a very high functioning 6-2 setter in beals....this is NOT the same team.

They completely deserve where they are ranked even without last year if u look at the team they have. They went through Florida and Texas pretty easily if I remember right. I think those were the two teams. They deserve their spot in every way.

I'm simply sayinbg that if Nebraska's ranking is based on last year's accomplishments why can't UW's.

I've been following Pac stats and uw's numbers have been rapidly improving: SERVICE ACES S No. Avg/S ------------------------------------------- 1. Oregon.............. 27 44 1.63 2. Washington.......... 21 32 1.52 I'll take a match of Bailey assist over a P Timer of Beal anyday of the week. ASSISTS (Minimum 5.00 per set) Player Team Cl S No. Avg/S ------------------------------------------------------- 1. Alyssa Jensen....... CAL SR 28 346 12.36 2. Chandler, Ryann..... UCLA JR 23 234 10.17 3. Tanner, Bailey...... WASH JR 21 212 10.10 Jones and co. are more than compensating for the loss of Strickland. DIGS S No. Avg/S ------------------------------------------- 1. UCLA................ 24 428 17.83 2. USC................. 33 517 15.67 3. Washington.......... 21 324 15.43 With Jones and DJ hitting the way they have been hitting their offense is just as good as it was last year, especially at this point in the season. The only thing I'll give you is blocking and it has steadily been improving and is almost on par with where they were in the 2nd week of last season. BLOCKS S Solo Asst Total Avg/S ------------------------------------------------------- 1. Stanford............ 22 7 139 76.5 3.48 2. Washington State.... 30 29 136 97.0 3.23 3. Colorado............ 29 8 161 88.5 3.05 4. UCLA................ 24 18 108 72.0 3.00 5. Washington.......... 21 8 92 54.0 2.57 (they've been averaging over 3.0 in last 3 matches) Also Dehoog, Bailey and Schwan were injured for significant chunks last year. If they stay healthy..... But right now I just want to see them beat Hawaii. This should prove the chemistry and coaching is also there.

Dawgs beat a Hawaii team led by All-American Niki Taylor who missed Wisconsin and KSU games. She posted 29 kills against Dawgs. Dawgs better be in top 5 this week.

Curious about thoughts on this subject after this past weekend. Good wins by Purdue and UW.

It's so silly. No one is dominant anymore. Too many good players out there.
