I follow indoor much more than sand. Curious what some more expert opinions are.

Can someone explain this to me. I know there is a dual competition, but there was also a pairs tournament? What does the pairs tournament count for? Why do the teams change throughout? If it is all just for fun, OK...

The pairs tournament is typically just like your normal adult beach tournament, but single elim. Just a chance for some extra play in a different format, against different pairs. Usually done as a muti-school event with top 3 flights in Gold bracket and bottom 3 flights in Silver. It can count as a date of competition for those needing it to make it to the minimum 8 dates.
Normally you are not allowed to change partners within an event, except for injury. Hope that Claes did not have anything worse than a leg cramp or dehydration. If so, it highlights the reason that these are not done very often - it is also a chance for injury in a basically meaningless competition. Especially for top pairs that will often play 3-4 matches in a pairs tournament.

USC only has 4 home matches this year since not many teams want to play them on their home court.
They doing the same venue when Cal comes down to play. Team, then pairs.
KC has almost missed more practices than she has attended this year. Her training is off, her conditioning is off compared to past three years and her level off play is no where near peak from last summer. Actually very sad to see and doesn't bode well for a future on the pro tour, imho.

SC loses a match if they have multiple injury issues plus another school trying to stack their 3-4-5's (Hi, Brooke Niles!). Otherwise, not seeing it.

SC has gone 3-2 with FSU and UCLA and play both again (and probably again in the post-season). I don't see them losing, but weird stuff happens. I figured they'd go undefeated last year too, but they didn't.
And ultimately, I don't see them losing in championship, which is what counts anyway.

USC has played FSU twice now, won 4-1 the second time around. I think they play again this weekend? But you're right, weird stuff does happen, and nobody is invincible. I do think it will take a really bad day at the office for USC in order for it to happen, though.

That may have been the best chance for someone to knock off USC in the regular season. USC got into Columbia last night and played FSU this morning at 8am Pacific time.

However, they still have to play UCLA again, and LBSU for the first time. While they are both at home, I think they will be pushed.
