I wonder if UCLA would be a different team with Muno and Simo healthy. I'm sure USC would still be the best, but would it help close the gap a little?

Muno is a very good player, but I think she is an example of the difficulties of playing both indoor, sand, and the tour in the off season. Wasn't she paired with Abril B. of USC over the summer? If so, that seems odd, why not work with a player from your own team? Great dividends during collegiate play season.

UCLA's had real problems scoring points with their #5 slot, so any quality additions would lengthen the lineup and improve that. Maybe that translates into a win or two over the possibly 6(!) times they'll play USC this year, but I think USC would still maintain their advantage overall.

I'm just looking forward to next year when USC loses their great players to graduation.

I'm just looking forward to next year when USC loses their great players to graduation. Their 2017 recruiting class is loaded. Next season is going offer UCLA, Florida State, etc an excellent shot at winning a national championship because of SC's graduation losses and youth. But SC is pretty much reloading rather than rebuilding, as the saying goes. They're going to be very, very good over the next several years.

SC does have an amazing class next year, but they're graduating some tough flip-flops to fill. That European girl is touted as amazing, but I can't remember her name. Joy and Abril will be very good as well, but the Trojans are certainly not a cinch in 2018. UCLA, Pepperdine, Florida State and Hawaii will be i the race too. Oh, I shouldn't forget Long Beach either. No one goes undefeated. I do still think they are the team to beat, but UCLA could be the one to take it all. Should be fun, and hopefully more matches are broadcast on TV.

Third best, wow! What 2 are ahead of her? Any of the incoming have the chance to become the 1's pair? Would they be able to beat UCLA's twins?

But Slater and Hallgren are both very, very good. Graudina probably has the most extensive high-level experience, but her game is a little...funky, I guess. Personally, I don't see a freshman pair at the #1's.

I am very impressed with your knowledge Geddy, wow! So if no incoming freshmen are #1 material, what's your guess? I have been impressed with Abril B. and Joy D., but they were chopped down to size recently by the 4 pair from UCLA. I would guess it to be doubtful that Ann has her eyes set on a 1's pair for next season yet, but if so, I hope they spend the off season working and playing together. The Trojans have been nearly guaranteed a win at the 1 spot for the last few years, but possibly the new strategy is load up 2's, 3's and 4's, and use that group to carry the matches. Any guess at who will step in as the new 1's?

Perhaps T. Cannon & your choice of a defender like Kremmer.
Abril & Joy will need to step up their consistency of play if they are going to rise any higher in the team ranks. Some matches they just looked out of sync.
