Larson, will never be any better attacking and she's never been great in that area... she is a ball controller and the best we've got. I don't think she loses anything in that area by the time Tokyo rolls around.

I think both Larson, and Foluke will make a run for Tokyo. Best all-around OH, and MB we have currently.

Larson is struggling with her reception this year in Turkey. While it certainly doesn't deteriorate at the rate attacking does, we don't have concrete evidence that her passing won't drop off by 2020.

This quad should be interesting. We have a bunch of power hitters, but seem to be lacking the high vb IQ/does everything ball control players.
Just to bring some new names into this thread and keep the net wide:
OPP: Taylor, Nwanebu, Payne, YBG
MH: Ogbogu, Alhassan, Holman, Ajanaku
OH: Hodson, Kadie Rolfzen, Lanier, Snyder, Cuttino, Rigdon, Wilhite, Lee, Anae, Leath, Mau, LVW, Sun
S: Carlini, Snuka, Hunter, Poulter, SSS
L: Hentz, Haben, Lake, White and Witt (I know, I know. They were all freshmen this past season, but I was very impressed with their play), JWO

If so there needs to be some major rearranging.

Would be extremely surprising if any current college freshmen (who would be graduating college in Dec 19 or May 20) impact Tokyo 2020 beyond possibly helping train in the gym prior to the team leaving for Tokyo and maybe competing at Pan Ams in June.

Actually 2 people who I think potentially make an impact whose names have not really been mentioned are:
Haley Eckerman - hopefully a year receiving and attacking in Italy has helped.
Micaya White - although I only watched her during playoffs, I was very impressed with her game and her fire!

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Plummer. Not saying we should or shouldn't, jusy saying. As an oppo, maybe. She has a cannon of an arm (have you seen her crank that line shot on the RS!!) and can shut down opposing hitters. We could potentially see her on the beach as well (probably not in the 2020 olympics though)

However, in this day and age, she may be better off going exclusively beach or exclusively indoor

OHs: I really hope Megan Courtney gets a good look. She has a good all-around game, is quick/dynamic and hits with enough pop. Dug for some videos of her club team Impel Wrocław on youtube and she's splitting time at OH, but plays quite well when she's in. Not sure how Hartong is doing now, but I thought she transitioned really well from MB to OH in college. Maybe also Taylor Simpson and Madison Kingdon, who single-handedly carried their teams in college. Mau too, maybe Anae but I seem to recall her getting subbed out in the back row pretty often. Didn't see much of Wilhite in college, and not too impressed with K. Rolfzen watching a couple of her games in Germany. I was impressed watching Micaya White this past season, but her youth probably works against her this quad. I think Hodge (passing/consistency), Klineman(slow, lack of power from watching the Brazil playoffs this recently) are done. Wasn't too crazy about Vansant although haven't really seen much of her post college. Larson, Hill, Robinson probably back, but need to add more power to their hits. Don't know much about Bartsch's game. Maybe not this quad, but very impressed with Lexi Sun, even more so than Lanier.
L: Wong-Orantes has to be the top candidate. Hentz I know more for defense but not sure about her passing. Her youth probably works against her too, but maybe less of an issue at this position. I was a bit disappointed that Formico decided to go straight into coaching. Don't think Haggland passes well enough despite her defense.
MB: Obvious choices are Ajanaku and Alhassan, Ogbugu too probably. Hope Foluke chooses to return. On the fence about Adams. Harmotto probably done. Don't think Gibbemeyer makes it. Not sure about Dixon, even if she does return to her pre-injury status.
Opp: Hooker continues to impress in Brazil this season. Hopefully Lowe/Murphy improve their blocking. I wonder about Plummer's speed/athleticism despite her strong attacking/blocking. Imagine a Plummer/Alhassan block though! Eckerman maybe, or maybe too slow? Not sure how Nwanebu would do against an international block. I'd like to see Payne given a shot.
S: Homer in me wants Lloyd to lead this quad. Would be fun to watch Carlini set national level players. Hancock more for her deadly serve and ability to hit with her left on 2. I realize setting is their primary function, but would like to see improved blocking.
I mainly follow the Pac12 so may not be as knowledgeable on players from other conferences, but this is my take.

Not sure why everyone is so high on Ogbogu. She's going to need a lot of work before she can contribute to the NT.
