So, we're starting a new quad! This is when then bones of the old team and the new kids begging the journey to Tokyo. Who will be back this year, who will retire and who will be the new faces of team USA???
Seems like Inky and Carlini will be there this summer. Rumor has it that Glass is done. Does Lloyd return this summer? Also, the libero spot is wide open now with Banwarth taking an early retirement. And is it too early to speculate wether or not Destinee and Karch will make amends? The last few interviews from her side have sounded hopeful. Let us discuss!

Is the Grand Prix in July the first event that USA will be participating in?

I think I either read or heard that Larson is taking the summer off. Also believe JWO will be joining the team in May/June.

I hope Lloyd comes back. I never got a chance to watch her during her collegiate career, so I hope she decides to stay for at least the world championships in 2018. Who else do we have as a setter? Carlini, Hancock, and...?
Any word on Foluke's future plans?

I wonder if Courtney Thompson will have a VIP spot again reserved for her

Their first competition is against Canada in a friendly match. Some where in California (obviously) around June. However, I feel that it will be a building year for most positions. Even though I don't want to believe Foluke will be retiring this year. I have a feeling this is her year to do it. I really hope Carlini holds up to her hype that EVERYONE believes she has as the next great thing. My concern is the outsides. I feel that we don't have strong candidates for this position. I would have liked for Vansant to keep at it, but it seems like she is done playing. I am not sure about Robo, Hill, Hodge-Easy, Elizabeth, and the others. Do they want to push for another quad? It seems the next big group are the Twins from NE. Kingdon-Rishel. Shoot I really don't know. Ha.. No disrespect to the coaching staff but I feel they may have a weak staff for this quad. I guess it is because we(me) are use to seeing higher up names that have been successful??? Ha Does anyone feel the same? Anyway, I am excited for this new quad to begin! The new faces are going to surprise many doubters (I hope)...

Hagglund will be top libero to start. Not sure who other than JWO will be around. Doubtful Destinee ever comes back. (On that note, hopefully she has gotten her personal life to a manageable state). Karch will have a new staff of assistants. I haven't heard anything of these spots, and they may have already been filled, but if anyone knows anything I'd be happy to hear. As for speculation, I'd suspect Fawcett is done with the NT. Thompson done. Kreklow is an interesting one, but apparently done. I think Dietzen is done. I'd like to see Foluke back, especially in a mentor state with Inky. They both have had similar paths thus far. Karsta should be back, hopefully Murphy is too. Don't really have a clue on the OHs.

Has Glass confirmed that she was done? I know she was taking the year off to step away from the game. It will be fun to see some new faces on the team this year. What happened with Vansant? Can't wait to see Hagglund in the libero spot. I think the Destinee comeback is wishful thinking but will never become a reality.

Outside is also where I'm looking. I'm not sure if Hill and Robinson will take the post-Olympics break given the lack of depth.
Bartsch should obviously be there, she was pretty close last time. Kadie is a surefire invitee. Courtney had a solid-ish season in Poland. Kingdon (Rishel) was strong in Korea and should get a look. I didn't really pay attention to Puerto Rico this season... also not sure that league is wwhat it was given how many rookies can get contracts elsewhere more easily now.
This was really Vansant's year to solidify herself... but I guess that's not to happen.
Middles - We have a lot to choose from here. I don't dare predict how it will work out. I'd like to see us get more M2s who are efficient in front of the setter.
Setters - Carlini-time! Lloyd will be back. Hancock will get an invite. Did Snuka earn a look after the tryout? I think Collins is good but not Team USA-caliber. Nichol had a successful-ish pro season. Could get an invite though I think it'd be tough for her to stay given the heavyweights at this position. I would bet Thompson will be in the gym in some capacity.
Libero - Hoping for a surprise here
There were a LOT of players in the gym early last quad, so their could be a similar number this quad. Though I guess it depends on Karch.

Dixon will be back as well - she's been in the gym all spring.
I hope Robinson sticks at it and ups her hitting game. She's already a solid passer.
For sure we see Kadie Rolfzen in there early, and maybe Sarah Wilhite as well.

I spoke with her recently, but she didn't say anything about the NT.

Adams, Inky & Dixon will probably be the middles this year... Who knows what Foluke will decide to do.
Hill and Robinson will likely continue to play, both young enough. It would be great to see Megan Easy get back in there. Larson can easily play another quad if she wants. Like others have said, I don't see any future outsides right now... obviously Hill was a surprise, so who is the next Kim Hill? Will she please stand up?
Murphy and Lowe seem like the only thing we've got unless, Hooker makes a comeback.
Carlini and Lloyd seem like the path forward at this point.
