Right? Why does Tan/Anderson have to possibly play Claes/Hughes again? Usually they put teams from the same pool in opposite halves of the draw.

They are just protected from playing teams from the same pool in the first round. There are some footnotes on the bracket about how the bracket was made, but honestly I couldn't figure out how it worked.

I think today is USC's graduation. Poor seniors.
Update: USC's Cannon/Martin (#3 pair) def Knudsen/Roh (PEP's #1 pair). Fight On!

Love to cheer against Martin because of the way she freaks out all the time.

Love to cheer against Martin because of the way she freaks out all the time. It's definitely annoying to watch, but love her intensity.

Love to cheer against Martin because of the way she freaks out all the time. Hah, that's why she's my favorite player at USC. Cracks me up every time. Although, I was actually kind of rooting for GSU to get to the final, just because I think it would make better TV - unknowns (well, they're not actually unknown of course, but I'm playing that up for TV) versus the pair that has won everything there is to win. K. Wong and Marlowe were watching the semifinal match furiously writing in their notebooks, wonder if they were thinking the same thing. Still, very, very nicely done by Cannon/Martin - taking down Pepp #1, Arizona #1, and a good GSU pair to make the final.

She rips jumpers in tight moments and plays to win. I think a lot of these girls could learn something valuable from her.

Quiggle and Howard won the 3rd place match quite easily... -17, -11. The first day they played Ross/Rohan, Quiggle/Howard squeaked out a 3rd set win 21-19.

It was written up in an article that Cannon transferred to USC last year after playing indoor, and couldn't crack into the top 5 USC pairs. That is an excellent improvement in one year's time, and she should be even better next year.
