10-11 in second set technical timeout. USA behind by 1 point.
USA must win this set to pull it to a tiebreaker.
Phil only got one block so far.

And now it's 12-15. Three points behind. Looking very much like the quarterfinals of world champs.

Phil and Nick survived. Well there is a reason why the Canadians haven't won a tournament yet. They have all the talent you need but if you make such crucial mental mistakes you're not going to win against the top teams.

Just watched the match. Surprised USA gave up the 1st set. Phil and Nick looked very complaisant in the 2nd set. Nick started getting some energy, and Phil feeds off of him. Good win, if they didn't, I was going to lose my faith a lot in this team.

A World CHAMPS rematch between the Austrians and Evandro and Andre.
Brazilians already won the first set. Can Austrians seek revenge?

Nope. Austrians blew it again. 20-19 became 20-22 in the second set.

Good win, if they didn't, I was going to lose my faith a lot in this team. I'm not sure if this win is enough to keep faith because let's face it, Canada gave this one away. They weren't able to pass a lollipop serve and then didn't pass the next one at all. And that was probably the 3rd or 4th husband and wife serve that lead to a direct point for Phil and Nick. That's inexcusable for a team that has played as long together as team Canada has imo. Only from around the 20:20 mark on Phil and Nick got some momentum and started to play good vb. It just shows that a match is never lost if you have big Phil on your team. I've seen him many many times get a couple of blocks at the end of a set to turn things around, even if he didn't get any blocks before.

Tomorrow, it's Phil/Nick vs Kantor/Losiak and Evandro/Andre vs Lupo/Nicolai in the semi-finals.
Germany lost pretty badly against the Poles at 14-21, 14-21.
