Taylor played right side with his bro, he's playing left with Gibb because Gibb prefers right. Taylor will play either and play whatever after choosing who he wants to play with next year. He's the top US defender right now IMO.

Zaun is a good young talent but some of you guys are really rating him high. He is going to be a questionable FIVB player unless he changes the way that he plays significantly. Agreed, not finished project but his physical skills are there, including size, that's why the higher ceiling/projection.

If Tri Bourne came back next season, will he reunite with John Hyden?

They didn't come close to a podium finish on this year's FIVB tour. They did fairly well on the AVP, but weren't exceptional there either. I don't think Jake is much different from the other US blockers right now, but at his age he is going to keep getting worse and I don't see a path to winning for Taylor with him. I was hoping for Theo/Taylor but maybe Crabb took a look at Theo's bump setting and decided that hitting from 8 feet off wasn't for him. I guess that leaves Theo with some pretty limited choices. At this point, I just hope its not Casey again. Hyden would be a great choice if available.

Known partnerships seem to be:
Nick/Phil Ryan/Reid - Very surprised Ryan isn't at least considering running it back with Hyden. Jake/Taylor
Best players still "available" who want to play internationally- just means I don't know who they are playing with, may already be committed
Theo Casey Hyden Tri - Would love a comeback, especially as a defender, but very hard to believe he will be able to do it with an auto-immune disease. (Venus does though so thats a positive) Slick

Could be wrong

One final prediction. The AVP expands to at least 10 events. Optimistic, but there was an uptick in quality in most respects, quality of play on the women's side being the exception with Kerri out and April hurt, and the FIVB had very few big events.
