My gut says the same thing, I'm hoping for 12-14. 12-14 is almost double from this year's 8 events! Yep. Of course this depends on FIVB. You can add a FL, another east coast like Virginia or Cape Cod and another mid-west (Indiana or Milwaukee). which would be 11. Another Cali event would be 12, or Arizona.

Miles and Billy probably will not be playing AVP this year because rumor of NVL returning. I have no idea where some people can say reid/ryan will be a team. Season ended about 4 days ago. In addition they won the last tournament, therefore I doubt that they will split anyway. Lastly Tri is one of the top blockers, why in the world would he go to defense.

Love VA Beach but in the past the AVP there didnt draw at all. Much older crowd than a normal beach. Belmar or another Jersey Shore beach (not Seaside) would be great and there is a ton of tradition there

In addition they won the last tournament, therefore I doubt that they will split anyway. Lastly Tri is one of the top blockers, why in the world would he go to defense. Tri has been floating the idea on the stream for a while and its been a topic of discussion for years. For me there are three reasons: 1) Tri is very undersized as a blocker. Internationally he struggles with hitters with high contact points. On the AVP he is fine but matching up with the monsters internationally the best Tri will ever be as a blocker is neutral. (i.e. not an asset to his team). His sideout game is sound, but its not good enough to make up for that if he wants to be a top player in the world 2) Assuming Tri can come back, and thats a big if, he will need to be very careful with his training (he has said this). Doing the kind of intense work he will need to to match up at the net with players like Loyola, Phil, Ryan, Christian. etc. seems like something he may not want 3)The only US path to a gold medal is with Phil. Tri may never defend like Nick, but he is much better siding out.

Chicory: I get it but on an interesting parallel, why do we "generally" only know the height of players? VERY little talk of hops or arm length and how they size up player to player....inquiring minds...

Tri is taller than Pedro. Hasn't Pedro moved to defense?

That would be funny, and make my example pretty bad.

I heard Nick is retiring, and so Phil wanted to try his had at defense leading into 2018. He figures since Everando can do it, maybe he can partner with Ryan....
Phil & Jake!

If they were each about 8 years younger, I think they could do it!

Miles and Billy probably will not be playing AVP this year because rumor of NVL returning. Please expand on these rumors If there are rumors, it's probably Armato trying to draw more coverage to his big World Series of Volleyball events, and then cancelling the rest of the undercards again. I don't know why anyone would put their trust and faith into that tour after they bailed this year, they will probably get no more than 4 events out of it best case scenario. I also don't know what DelSol is doing, but if he plays with Mesko another year or commits to the NVL again he's basically putting a stamp saying maxed out on his ability as a player. I don't know for sure and compltely speculating, but I wouldn't be surprised if Page was just done competing on the top dog tours.
