since the match is at oregon ... is it possible that the match will be televised (and/or streamed) on the pac-12 network? I don't see anything for the match between Hawaii and Baylor. They have the 1st round match between Oregon and New Mexico State and the 2nd round match (if Oregon wins the 1st round as expected). They list the 2nd one as "NCAA 2nd Round - Hawaii/Baylor at Oregon (Only If Necessary)" so my guess is that they won't cover games that don't involve a PAC-12 team. That's too bad. Will anyone stream the match? I saw raian's comment that OC 16 will televise it but will it be streamed anywhere?

This situation is similar to a lot of other years, as OC16/Spectrum decided to broadcast the first round games or the other way round, with ESPN having rights to first round broadcast (i.e.: 2015 against TCU & T-A&M). Only one company can broadcast a match.

I am not sure but I think this game will be on the channel that usually show football, basketball and baseball. I don’t think they will televise this match on the same channel like they did during the regular season....which is the station that televised high school sports. Doesn’t make sense to do that. This is a post season game and you can get more advertising money if they put it on the station that show other major UH sports.
If that is the case, the Hawaiian Telcom customers can watch too.

Unfortunately, because of this, I don't think it will be available on ESPN3 (although they do indicate that live stream is TBD, so it is possible).

Aw crap....looks like it WILL be televised on that stupid High School channel. I don’t get it. Why does OC insist on putting women volleyball on that HS channel while other UH sports in on that college sports channel. I
I’m a Hawaiian Telcom customer too so I am screwed.

If Spectrum is putting it on OC 16, we Hawaiian Tel folks are definitely 😱🤨🤦♀️🤯🤬😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 When Spectrum took over TWC just before the 2016 WVB season, it did two things in quick succession. First, it moved OC 16 onto channel 16 from 12 and left just a few remnants of local programming on channel 12. Second, it refused to negotiate a telecast or streaming price to Hawaiian Tel.
What happened next gets into broadcast legalities. Spectrum was required because of some detail in federal law to make live feed available (it could continue to charge) for “major” college sports. That is why UH football and UH men’s basketball weren’t shafted in 2016. Yes, I am a longtime MBB fan, so I waited for this to unfold. Two business days before the start of the Wahine season, Spectrum went radio silent not responding to Hawaiian Tel or even Shoji and his tweets, not to mention the public. We Hawaiian Tel subscribers were encouraged by Hawaiian Tel to contact Spectrum and elected officials to voice our displeasure. Thing was, there was no legal recourse because women’s VB is not a “major sport.” And then some smart folks looked at the Big West legal documents and pointed to the clear rule that each venue shall make real-time video available to the home-region viewership of traveling teams. That’s why Rich Sheriff and crew scrambled to get a stationary camera in Place for the first match. And why soon enough the Spectrum feed was geolocked and given to BW.

But we can watch men’s volleyball on OCSports along with football and all the other major sports. Only women’s volleyball is on that darn HS channel.

It's basically a tactic to get Hawaiian tel customers to switch over..... All while saying how community minded they are. Fine, Spectrum. So TWC end-ran KFVE and got the multiyear contract, which you inherited when you bought out TWC. Yes, your multi-camera product is good. Sell us a PPV package via Hawaiian Tel or a streaming product. Or do the decent thing, which Oceanic/TWC did, and negotiate a fee with Hawaiian Tel for WVB.
