Okay, who's making the 2019 thread? There's already two. BIK made "Hawaii 2019". Just do a search. And then there's "Hawaii Recruiting 2018 and 2019".

We just need one Hawai’i 2019 thread. Close the recruiting threads and move them over the 2019 thread.

It seems like Tita Aiku will be in the Hawaii record books. One of the categories is "A UH player had 20 plus digs in consecutive matches". Tita had 22 digs against Portland, 26 digs against San Diego State, and 22 digs against Oregon.
She has 465 digs, which would be 4th in the record book for single-season digs, just two behind Jayme Lee. Too bad that the Bows didn't go further in the tournament or she might have been 1st. Elizabeth Ka'aihue is first and has 484.
Aiku is 1st in dig/game. Ka'aihue is currently 1st and has 3.68. Aiku smashes that with 4.56 digs/set. Even as a senior, Ka'aihue had 3.69 digs/set so it isn't just that you're comparing Aiku's senior year to all 4 years for Ka'aihue.
I'm really happy for Aiku. To come in to a new team and contribute so much is amazing. I'm going to miss her. She was so fun to watch.

Tita would have most likely beat that dig record for a season if the UCLA match wasn’t cancelled that’s usually a hard fought defensive battle.

Now that this season has come to an end, I just can't help but wonder how this team would have done if Dave Shoji was still the head coach?
Would they have been more successful?
Would Dave have run a 6-2 like Robyn did, considering Dave wasn't a huge fan of the 6-2?
Despite being inexperienced and still learning I have to give it to Robyn for the job that she has done so far. After just completing her second season as head coach I have to say she has done a great job considering the personnel that she has had to work with. The talent just hasn't been there her first two seasons and she has still managed to keep the team competitive to an extent. Not at the high level that the program is used to, but IMO this team has overachieved with the talent that Robyn is working with. I believe that it is only a matter of time before the Wahine program is back winning conference titles and competitive with the top teams in the country as it seems the program is turning the corner and the girls on the team is buying into Robyn's system. I have to say though I really enjoy Robyn's competitiveness and intensity on the sidelines. I really like how involved she is in every point.
As with the majority of the Hawai`i fans on this board, I'm excited for next season and to see what these new incoming Wahine can do for this program.

Eloquently stated Kolohekeiki, when the season started, it was my opinion that if we could somehow finish near the top of the BWC, Robyn and Company will have done a commendable job. The fan base expected a major power vacuum, sub par blocking and the one and dones were a question mark. All things considered, this was a remarkable season that ended in a 5 set nail biter to a formidable BIG 12 team in the postseason. Who would have expected that our team MVP would turn out to be a diminutive 5'3" one and done transfer Libero named Tita Akiu who played like a giant throughout the season. Amazing

Was searching for another ancient thread & saw this one. One postscript/epitaph for '18. Imho, Robyn did a MAGICIAN'S job; Yeoman's work re: this team's performance
