Rich does a great job, but his list of commits is not comprehensive (and I don’t believe he claims that it is, either). If people don’t tell him about them, they don’t get posted (same with Prep). There are plenty of commits noted on club teams’ sites that haven’t been forwarded to either RK or JT - doesn’t mean they aren’t real commits. Here's the lyrics of a song about recruiting ... Come and listen to a story 'bout a man named Jed Poor mountaineer barely kept his family fed Then one day he was shooting for some food, And up through the ground come a bubbling crude (Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea)
Well the first thing you know old Jed's a millionaire Kin folk said Jed move away from there Said California is the place you oughta be So they loaded up the truck and they moved to Beverly (Hills that is, swimming pools, movie stars)
Well now it's time to say goodbye to Jed and all his kin They would like to thank you folks for kindly dropping in You're all invited back again to this locality To have a heaping helping of their hospitality (Beverly Hillbillies, that's what they call 'em now, Nice folks Y'all come back now, ya hear?)

Shockers are getting a real good player that can play all the way around. If only she were 2-3" taller she probably would've received a Nebraska offer instead of a walk-on invite.

After what we saw Annika Albrecht do this past season as a 6-footer on the left, I really hope Nebraska isn’t limiting scholarship offers to 6’3”+ kids. I would think Nebraska is offering full rides based on skills, talent, and potential — not height alone.

What are you talking about? Capri Davis and Kashauna Williams are joining the team as incoming freshmen and they’re both listed at 6’1”.

It implied that height alone was the main factor keeping her from a full ride offer from Nebraska.

I was responding to reach because his implication don’t seem to be based in fact since arbitrary height benchmarks doesn’t seem to be a factor for other Nebraska players or recruits. Do you get it now?

All attributes matter and Nebraska isn't going to take a 5'10" pin regardless of skill unless she has a Bosetti-like vertical. Not sure what Buss is listed at, but I have actually seen her in person and that's about how tall she is. Albrecht was 6' and still had to walk-on at first, like Buss would have had to.

EDIT: And now it sounds like her vertical was the determining factor, not her height? That makes more sense because that means that her overall athleticism was the reason she wasn’t offered a scholarship vs. solely her height like you said initially. That was my point: I don’t think Nebraska is only offering scholarships to a certain height threshold and above; they’re offering to good kids with the skills and potential — physical and otherwise — to be successful at Nebraska. There are lots of ways for undersized pin players to earn scholarships at Nebraska (I think Cook would agree). You just need to make up for it by being exceptional in other areas. Apparently Buss wasn’t.

I was responding to reach because his implication don’t seem to be based in fact since arbitrary height benchmarks doesn’t seem to be a factor for other Nebraska players or recruits. Do you get it now? No I don’t get it and you said nothing pertaining to reach in your posts. jasonr was correct in the case of Marriah Buss. Each case is different. This case is unique because Marriah is a Nebraska girl. A Nebraska girl will get more consideration, I think, over others. However, she is undersized and 6’0” is being generous. Annika was a big time exception as an undersized player. She had to pay her dues though. She walked on and eventually earned a scholarship and wasn’t a starter until her last year in school. How many of the top programs have starting OH’s under 6 feet tall like Marriah? How many scholarships do they offer those undersized players? What I do get is your radical agenda in implying Nebraska practices height discrimination. This is truly laughable and absurd! This is just like you and your ilk making stupid comments about skin color on the Nebraska team. What’s next on your agenda that Nebraska doesn’t recruit boys that try to pass themselves off as girls by taking female hormones?
