So Penn State loses both OHs, Leath and Reed plus Weiskercher. That's a lot. I've never seen Penn State so thin in the outside. Cathey plus the future recruits? Addition by subtraction is a real thing and applies to two of the three cases you mentioned. In 2019 it will be Cathey as a sophomore. The freshmen will be Gabi Bailey, Lauren Clark and Sydney Ferguson, all coming in as OH. In 2020, the freshmen will be Annie Cate Fitzpatrick at OH, Iman Ndiaye as a RS/OH/MB and Macy Van Den Elzen as an OH/RS. Hopefully, at least a couple of them pan out.

.... I imagine she just reflected her coach's attitudes. As others have mentioned, he has always tried to bully the refs. In this match, he didn't succeed. White's demeanor and attitude are more the product of club, not Russ.

I just want to clarify what I meant when I discussed Whites play. I do not dislike her and I think she is an entertaining personality to have on the court and to be a face of a program. If I was to ask someone who didn't watch volleyball to watch a match with me and we were watching Penn State I would say check White out cause she is a fiery competitor that has a love for the game and an almost arrogance to her play. Its fun to watch but its important to not let your emotions get the best of you. I think she did a little of that over the past weekend. I certainly look forward to more of her congratulatory pushes to teammates after they make amazing plays. I have no clue whether Russ was talking about her or not in the presser it is all speculation but either way I look forward to another season of White and Penn State being a team everyone is always nervous to play.
Also I loved Parkers response in the post game press conference. Her disappointment was clear and she was emotional but she seemed hungry to learn and grow her game and she has the ability in my opinion to become one of the elite right sides in the NCAAs. She said she wanted to jump right back in the gym. Parker is an exciting player to watch.

She said she wanted to jump right back in the gym. Parker is an exciting player to watch. That’s why I was saying on dignittany that they have the firey leader for next year in white. The need the calm and collected leader to balance that out. Don’t think they had it this year. It’s great to get team fired up but sometimes what team needs is to stop takes some breaths, calm down and regroup. They need that side of leadership also. The ying to the yang righy. Gotta be balanced. They need a calming presence. I love white but she isn’t that. Getting too fired up can sometimes be detriment I think cause your not necessarily thinking clearly there also. But there are limits to even that. It comes down to individuals. Some the harder something gets the tougher and stronger they become others panic and fall apart. Don’t think it’s a teachable thing. You have it or u don’t. I know she’s not only one but it’s why I loved Hancock so much. She def has it. Big time game. She had the look to. When I watched her u could see it. Oh boy time to get the hell out of her way and let her go. It was so exciting. Point being maybe psu doesn’t have as many of those personalities as they use to have on team.
