http://instagram.com/p/B6QubI4gwyF We made it to the Sweet 16 with a young team. We finished 5th in B1G. We got a Third Team and two Honorable Mention All Americans. Finished 2nd in blocks per set for the conference. Had a player finish the season with 50 aces and led the B1G in service aces per set. It wasn't the finish everyone hoped for but it's a finish we can damn sure be proud of. I can't wait to start the 2020 thread as this journey continues for such a promising team. Thank you Mohler. Thank you Cuttino. Let's keep moving.

I never imagined they'd end up seeded ... but I planned to take that Thursday and Friday off well in advance anyway, even if all I could do was watch online. And I always check that box on the renewal form for VB (I do an annual thing with friends for MBB so I can't make it to WBB if they were to host). So I ended up in the fancy seats, just to the student side of the net at center court ... worse for tactical viewing (also that one person in blue keeps getting in the way, can someone tell them to sit down or something? haha) but much better for seeing the players. Great matches (even Dayton-Marquette), great atmosphere, loved that the team ran up into the crowd after both matches. We were standing up after the Marquette win, watching the Boilers wind through the student section, when all of a sudden there's Jael coming up the aisle, high-fiving everyone she can reach, maybe three rows down from us! She made it up just past our row - we did get to greet her, she's definitely that tall in person and high-fiving a DI power-conference athlete is not like high-fiving a friend, lol, I feel sorry for those practice volleyballs - but had to turn and run back to catch her teammates as most of them were finishing the victory lap. (If you saw the PurdueVB video, they were at the very end of the train).
Pleasantly surprised they took a set off Baylor after losing the first one, not surprised they couldn't pull off that upset. Six of eight losses against top-6 Massey teams (that Illinois loss never did end up looking good, did it?), most likely all but two key contributors returning, another strong class coming in, a solid recruit coming off her redshirt year and eligible to play ... 2020 is their chance to take things a step farther. Looking forward to it already! (And not just because MBB is having an off year and WBB looks to be struggling in a solid conference again.)
