Hyden having some trouble passing Adrian’s skyball.

Adrain was playing Clark Kent's "other" role in the Hyden/Dougherty match that just finished.... :-(

I bet no one saw this coming. But Slick/Allen just won over the #1 seed of Crabb/Gibb 19-21, 18-21, 15-9.

Does this mean Patterson is really declining that much? Slick Patterson wound not of beat gibb. I’m not sure why he’s fading so fast? While he’s older he’s not super old.

Adrain was playing Clark Kent's "other" role in the Hyden/Dougherty match that just finished.... :-( They ran a very good off tempo offense. Shoot sets, back sets, over-on-two sets and fakes. It was like every play had two hitting options that kept Ryan off guard and guessing. Adrian was indeed super, but his partner Enrico made a bunch of plays as well.

All that tempo really messed with Ryan, smart strategy.

I think Stafford and Billy just click better than Stafford and Casey did. Some teams are better than the sum of the parts and some are worse. Still surprised they beat Jake and Taylor though.
The Italians had a great game plan and executed it perfectly. They ran a really fast spread offense to negate Ryan’s block, and their two balls and Adrian’s sky balls kept everything off balance. Adrian also played great D - he somehow was the best player on the court.

Everything about his game seemed to be operating at about a 4-5 if his normal ability is a 10. Jake carried them. Not surprised they lost to Billy/Stafford because as you said just watching this one match they didn’t look sharp at all and it was mostly Taylor.

Hyden/Doherty looked like they were done after the first quickset. They made zero adjustments and looked like they wanted to be on a plane the whole match. Really lousy showing, I left about halfway through the second game because watching them offer their necks to the Italians was a waste of time. It looked like Hyden/Doherty were completely surprised that Adrian made some tricky plays. After all it isn't like they had 10 years of experience competing against him to know that.

Stafford/Billy is just a more natural team than Casey. Playing with Patterson there is so much pressure to sideout but with Billy, despite his flaws, you know if you make a mistake he can dig back for you and get your team another chance.
