Yikes. What a choke by Michigan. That was a nice comeback by the Rainbow Wahine Golden Gophers!

Yikes. What a choke by Michigan. I don't know. Losing a 2 set lead on it's own isn't a choke, especially when the other team is supposedly better and wins sets 3 and 4 comfortably. Maybe a mini-choke from 8-5 to 8-8 or 8-9 in the fifth, but other than that I see nothing that choke-y. It's an overused word.

Minn looked really good in the 4th, I'll say that.

The fact Miller isn't even there is NOT good. They will not go very far with this lineup. Kudos for winning with it, but this is depressing.

If she doesn't come back at full speed by the tournament, I'd be thrilled with a regional appearance (round of 16). That would be a very good, but doable, result and if they happen to get hot and do any better, that would just be icing. McMenimen could get more comfortable and better if she plays the rest of the season. Maybe not enough to make a FF run, but enough improvement to do better than we think she would now.

Minny first contact, even in transition, is doing them in.....funny thing is that Michigan isn't really doing all that better of a job in their first contact either.....plenty of relatively easy passes pulling the setter behind the 10ft line on both sides of the net. They were passing much better, but Welsh can set very hittable balls out of system.

That sequence of blocks against Wetterstrom really did Michigan in. They needed to try that May play a little earlier. Does Michigan have any good outsides coming in next year? To be fair, Welsh's decision making was oof at times. Same in other matches. To answer your question YES! Mruzik was named MVP for the YNT that won gold, and she was an absolute baller. Passing can be suspect at times, but she can crack the ball. But, I must say it's not like this season is even remotely close to over
