On paper, TAV 18-Black looks scary good!!!! It will be interesting to see which teams can hang with them this season. only an 18’s who don’t have early enrollees and top kids left over. Do you think Spears and Davis will play their age after the 18’s season ends in April? I don't see that happening but I suppose anything is possible.

Agree they would want reps. I never considered a player moving down after the 18s season would be an option. I would think if that's the plan then TAV would have left a couple of slots open on their 17s team. I just went and looked at the roster and it seems pretty full (11 players with 3 OH)

I think a lot of times it’s up to the club team and directors, since the OHs that usually would play would potentially sit out for Spears and Davis to play. Could cause some conflict and some upset players/parents.

Absolutely but imagine the turmoil that would bring unless their current players knew it would be happening.

It’s no different than when these kids get to college. Club directors and coaches are going to do what’s best for the club. They may say one thing early on for the exact reason you mention, keep conflict at a minimum. But I can assure you once the 18’s season ends it will be entertained. A few years back this occurred where some very talented 17’s played 18’s to help out and came back down for Nationals .(albeit at a different club).

Yeah the more you put it out there, I can very well see it as a possibility. Can you imagine potentially winning 18s and then coming back and just killing it at 17s the same year?! Wow that would be quite the way to end your club career (assuming both Davis and Spears are graduating early)

I have mixed feelings about early enrollment. Babcock and Stafford went in June like most kids will and did just fine this season. The Nebraska kids went early and did just fine also. I suppose it just depends on what the kids and their families prefer.

Their 18s won the new Emperors Cup nationals with I believe five 2024s and two 2025s on the team...who all then moved to their 17s team and got to the final 4 at AAU open.

I'm sure they know its a possibility, but it is way different when you are paying thousands of dollars to play and attend tournaments, you play with a team for 7 months and then a girl better than you plays over you for the culminating tourney. Most clubs wouldn't do this. The problems outweigh the benefit by. far.

Especially in North Texas where kids switch every year based on who is coaching where .

Example- Brianna Watson (LSU Commit) TAV 15 Black -> Madfrog 16N Green -> Drive Nation 17 Red -> Skyline 18 Royal. It’s not a bad thing, I get doing what’s best for you it’s just sometimes hard to keep track of what club DFW players are at LOL

The “Portal” isn’t anything new to NTR kids once they get to college.
