I have to say I’m a little disappointed in you NTR folks. Last year y'all had your own thread because there was so much drama! This year: nothing! Surely there was some Texan craziness, right? Just give it time. I'm certain that something newsworthy enough will happen to warrant its own thread. We just need to give the season some time to percolate a bit and let the pressure cooker do its job and something is bound to pop enough to warrant a thread in a few months. Otherwise it wouldn't be an NTR season...right? Yep. Still early. Although one season without chaos would be nice.

That's not true. If you play 18's club season, you cannot play in any 17's qualifiers but you can play in 17's Nationals (for your same club). So while you can't help your team get the bid, you can help them compete at Nationals. Interesting clarification. Thank you! Could you imagine having 18s team players that can still play 17s come in to take your position at 17s nationals that you played to qualify for the tournament? That would be rough. It's happened a few times. Or a 2nd team gets a American bid and a 1st team misses out on a national bid so the club replaces all the 2nd team players with the 1st team players so they can still compete at nationals.

Be curious how NKYVC is handling the 3 setters on the roster. Kiana Dinn is new to the group and probably tinkering with line-ups and such. Apparently Dinn and Yoder set in Indy, Lentz did not. Lentz can play almost any position so I’m sure do whatever is needed.

Hopefully everyone makes it in safe! I saw hundreds of flights are being cancelled at O'Hare and Midway

Yeah the more you put it out there, I can very well see it as a possibility. Can you imagine potentially winning 18s and then coming back and just killing it at 17s the same year?! Wow that would be quite the way to end your club career (assuming both Davis and Spears are graduating early) Most private schools don’t allow early graduation that’s likely why Livings isn’t an early enrollee. I have mixed feelings about early enrollment. Babcock and Stafford went in June like most kids will and did just fine this season. The Nebraska kids went early and did just fine also. I suppose it just depends on what the kids and their families prefer. I don’t care for the becoming-more-common early graduation/enrolling situations we see these days. I understand it’s a preference, but why rush growing up? Let these girls enjoy their senior year and the memories. They’ll be in college and playing soon enough. They have four solid seasons to develop. To each her own, but I’d venture to say that most adults look back and see how fast time goes by. Graduating early isn’t necessarily an advantage.

I agree with your sentiment as well.

Looks like a lot of upsets in KC and Chicago.
Especially in Chicago. Looks like 1st Alliance is the only top pool seed to make it out of their pool in first place.

Why would anyone think this is a good idea? Best 3 out of 5 in a 4 day tournament!? Back in the day, we played 3 out of 5, sideout scoring, in 16s 17s and 18s Open at Junior Nationals. Those were the days my friend when our girls were as tough as nails and they would run through a brick wall to recover a ball.
