Kloth gave up a bunch of points on service receive, but the match was only close because she earned even more on serve. Nuss just made way too many errors. She’s often very good, but I think folks forget how high risk her placements and shots are. Match was mostly close, at least in the 3rd, because the Swiss were choking and making terrible plays. Then Kloth would just give it back with her awful passing. She gave up at least 3 float serve aces where she barely needed to move, after they had their first match point. Kloth's insane efficiency on offense and solid block is the no. 1 reason this team wins, and I agree Kristen is overrated because it looks amazing to see a tiny person do those things, but Taryn gave this match away. I agree 100% with this. I love me some TKN and I root hard for Nuss but Kloth is the powerhouse that needs to be on for TKN to win meaningful matches. To their credit, they sure do win a lot and I love watching them do it.

What does everyone think of that spinning drone angle from the camera during play?

Cheng struggling to pass again. Seems like a mistake to serve Hughes there at 3-1

Carol is so speedy. Her ability to chase down shanked passes/digs is remarkable. Best footwork on the women's side. Could easily be a defender.

Canada win in 3. Tina should never hit on 2. It's so predictable. Ugly game. Agree entirely. So many of the women's matches are just a contest to see who makes the fewest errors. I know there is a lot of wind, but the number of points these guys were giving up with sloppy play is remarkable. For example around 11 all in the third or so, Tina got a good set with the line wide open. Then she hit the ball about 5 feet out on a simple roll shot, but got the point because Brandie netted. It seems like many of these teams are coached to be uber-aggressive and I'd be very curious to see what a more conservative approach might achieve It started getting hard to watch. Some of the hitting errors were wtf moments. Haha.

Wow. Brazil with SIX blocks - USA zero.
BRA 7 aces - USA. zero ?! Can't win with that kind of a stat.

It seems like many of these teams are coached to be uber-aggressive and I'd be very curious to see what a more conservative approach might achieve At the World Champs Latvia took Cheng/Hughes to three sets with Tina's aggressive "on two" attacks. She had the best attack percentage in Mexico. I think the coach Damian Wojtasik instructs the aggressive approach to compensate for Ana's traditionally weak side-out and even weaker transition. But in Doha it looks as if Ana has been much more effective with her attacks. The ultra-aggressive style might not be as necessary now? In any event in Doha Tina still has the third best FIVB attack percentage at 59,1% behind Cheng's 63% and Huberli's 61%. Also the most aces and 2nd leading blocker behind Wilkerson.

What does everyone think of that spinning drone angle from the camera during play? I've just seen one (NOR vs NED), refreshing, looks good

I was just musing what swapping Sara and Nuss would look like. Perfect passes for Kelly to crush and full coverage behind her and an genuine attacker for Kloth with Sara benefitting from a block…

Perfect passes for Kelly to crush and full coverage behind her and an genuine attacker for Kloth with Sara benefitting from a block… I’ve thought about this before too. I think Nuss can still play incredible defense behind Kelly’s small block. Sarah looked pretty slow for majority of the tournament, but she’d benefit from playing around a huge block. But, friendship lol..
