After that challenge on set point, ZAKSA made it difficult for Zawiercie to finish it out. No Shoji for ZAKSA today, and Perry is outplaying Shoji's backup. Solid first few sets for Butryn. Russell is doing his job well. Grobelny and Recko are attrocious right now. I’ve been very impressed with Butryn all year. He gets to every ball and swings super efficient and hard.

Yeah, everyone not named Perry was getting aced off the court for Zawiercie.
They need to be able to feed the ball to Bieniek much more.

Russell with a monster block and then a Zaw ace! Tie game
That call to tie the game at 15 calling Russell over the attack line was ridiculous. Not even close

Can I say Luke Perry wins the match on a dig off the middle attack? Jesus

I think Japan has been exactly what the doctor ordered for TJ. He seems to be having a blast

I stayed up to watch this one. Once they dropped that third set, I thought they would lose (since they got handled the night before).
It was a fun match.

Kyle Russell went off for 30 points over PAOK and hit .500.
His team is currently undefeated in Greece. He is fourth with 5.5 points per set. Leads the league with 14 aces and is second with .88 aces per set.

I am SO happy the S.VLeague is available on VBWTV now. I'm getting to see so much great volleyball! volleyb, what are your thoughts on Eiro? I think he's looked pretty great so far. Not perfect, but he much improved since the last time I saw him with the national team -- back in VNL 2022? Or 2023?

Not perfect, but he much improved since the last time I saw him with the national team -- back in VNL 2022? Or 2023? Glad that you can now watch the games! There are also some promising players at the bottom teams that are interesting to watch like Yamada of Toray, Goto of Tokyo, Yasui of Sakai, Kudo of VC Nagano. They might not be NT Team A material, but they are already better than some of the team B OHs in recent years imo. Not a fan of Eiro's setting in the past years at Wolfdogs Nagoya but he's definitely improving at Bluteon. Being surrounded with the different talents at Bluteon is a good training for him if he still want to challenge for the National Team, as opposed to when he was in Wolfdogs where the sets pretty much go to the Opposite for like 70% of the time (would also be the case this season if he stayed, considering Nimir).

Ewert scored 7 points on 7 kills with a .200 hitting efficiency.
Saint Nazaire ran into a vastly superior Perugia team and were swept easily.

Ewert is doing pretty well, especially considering it’s hard to put up better numbers with this setter against a team like Perugia.
That said, in the context of LA28, he’d probably be my 6th or 7th choice. Russell, Jaeschke, Defalco, Champlin, Robinson, Pasteur? Maybe Kelly? Each of them either has more potential or is already better.
