I couldn’t hear you, 0-3 said what? Sorry, I don’t talk to people who have losses outside the top ten 😉 I do not delight in negativity

The thing I most enjoyed about this match was how much POWER was on display tonight. You could feel the emotion coming through the hits! Awesome!
Great for the game. Great for the TV value.
Need to expunge this soft, weak, "two hand put over" nonsense, post haste. By rule

Between shaffmaster and Luper, this is the year of shedding the exoskeleton and emerging better than ever. Luper was always this good last year.

A friend of mine is driving us from Madison to Milwaukee today. he's going to want to leave shortly after the UW-Stanford match, and I'm going to want to stay. We jokingly (or was it?) agreed we'd stay as long as Minnesota scores 15 or more in a set. I wonder how many sets we'll see... 5. You’ll see 5 sets with a big fat Minnesota W 😁 He started feeling the "root for the underdog" impulse in the second set, and I kept pointing out that was against his self-interest; he'd say "I know, but human nature is human nature". He groaned with every timeout and every challenge, but we were there to the end. Congrats to the Gophers. If you'd offered me 100-to-1 odds, I wouldn't have taken it.

Need to expunge this soft, weak, "two hand put over" nonsense, post haste. By rule There were two or three of them called as doubles during the Wisconsin-Stanford match, and a dozen worse during the Minn-Texas match that were not called. I agree 100%

Patting myself on the back for my useless Gopher volleyball trivia. Only 10 meetings surprises me. I guess Hebert never played Texas. I do not remember those doubleheaders in 2011 and 2012. Laura Bush undefeated against Texas in her interim coach year!

That’s what I thought but that match wasn’t listed on the link provided so I convinced myself we played Penn state in 2009. I was even there to watch it oops On second look the listed matches are only the last 10 with 2009 being the first of 11 I guess

Set 4
A crash after the set 3 adrenaline rush? They seemed to run out of gas after their 10th point. The 6 pt run at the end of the set was a rather classic MN rotation1 collapse. It was the only time in two days they were unable to side out with Grote on the left and Wucherer on the right.
I agree with game thread comments that giving starters a break via subbing might have been wise. I wonder how many downed banana or sugar after the 4th. Going into a 10th set in two days had to be physically challenging

This is the best news I’ve had all week. Way to go Minnesota.
