Look, I appreciate the effort you took out of your day to research this on my behalf. I even clicked on the link, but when the sub-heading of the literature you recommended is this: Sexing the Body: Gender Politics and the Construction of Sexuality, its hard not to think that this isn't biased in some way. I don't think I'm being closed minded, nor are others on this board that hold similar opinions as mine, but I've made my stance quite clear. The grey areas in which a lot of this subject is being seen, by each side, is seen as black and white by each on this issue. It's not even a spin, its a belief. Hell, I'm not even the quintessential type category of person that you may have in your mind about me. The word fairness is being seen differently by you and me, is all, and its being defined by our belief system. I think that we keep this off this thread and move it somewhere more approrpiate for this discussion. Glad you appreciate the research, and I can understand how the specific phrase “gender politics” can be a turn off due to potential bias. I’d also recommend “As Nature Made Him” if you’d like to read something more biographical and outside of the sphere of academia. I have no preconceived notions about who you are or why you feel the way you do, and I’ve never specified my own stance on these matters as well. I’m just responding to requests to be educated. The inclusion of trans women in sports has gray areas, and it’s not an issue that can be solved on a message board (as if anything ever has). What’s “fair” is going to look different to every person, and we should be open minded on hearing the opinions of others. What we shouldn’t do is demonize or dehumanize Blaire, along with any other trans athletes, through this situation. Okay, you can get off your high horse now. In no way was the poster who was attacked initially, nor I, were demonizing or dehumanizing the player. You start off okay, but end up preachy. If its intentional or not, it is quite obvious.

Thank goodness we can rest this issue now.
