You had Oregon at a #4 and Purdue at a #3. Oregon loses at home to Purdue, wins at USC. Purdue wins at Oregon and at Washington. Does anything change? Oregon is a borderline seed while Purdue is a certain 3. |

Baylor
USC
Utah
Georgia Tech
TCU

San Diego may be on the wrong side of the bubble - but they're getting all they can handle from Saint Mary's. They escape to go up 2-0, but, any chance hinges on winning this match. I’m happy that they still warrant mentioning at all. |

Oregon is a borderline seed while Purdue is a certain 3. I think they give Kansas the 3 based on H2H, plus it relieves them of the sticky issue with 5 Big 12 teams on the 4/5 lines. Depends on what the committee does re: Texas/Kentucky. Purdue has H2H with Kentucky and Utah. Kentucky and Texas (especially) have worse losses. Texas has 5 currently to non-hosting teams, Purdue has 0, Kansas has 1 or 2. I don't have Kansas as low as a 4. I'm not sure I ever have. |

Kentucky is just not in the conversation in terms of H2H - they've got distance in terms of RPI plus a better win than anyone else. I see the ASU/Texas/Kentucky ordering being one conversation, and then Purdue/Kansas, and then the last two spots. |

Also, the Pre-Championship manual says:
"First and second-round conference matchups will be avoided."
That means to me the committee WILL move a seed up or down 1 to avoid re-matches. If the language said "the committee will attempt to avoid conference matchups".. that would be different and they may let the chips fall (though I think we are all skeptical they wouldn't just move someone)

What is ASU’s claim to fame? A 29-2 record with 6 top 25 RPI wins, plus 2 more wins in the 25-50 range. And this info is so easy to look up. People on this board link it all the time. I get so tired of people who only watch the Big Ten judging teams in other conferences. "I don't get why THIS team should be ranked/seeded, the #2 team in the country swept them. What's their claim to fame?" Oh brother |
