Florida, Wisconsin, Missouri, Texas should all drop in the rankings based on the fact that they all lost matches they should have been expected to win. Hawaii also drops, while Cal Poly moves up...how's that to start the discussion??

The Texas loss to PSU was on 9/8 and reflected on the 9/11 AVCA poll when they moved up to #5. I don't think Texas will move down especially with Florida loosing.

Texas didn't lose this week. They swept Texas Tech at home, and swept Kansas on the road. Catch up . . .

LSU should make a nice move up in the standings. Their only loss is still to PSU in 5.

How about Stanford/Santa Clara?? With Stanford getting them in 3, shouldn't there be some movement?

Bottom 5 very debateable: 1. Nebraska 2. Penn St. 3. UCLA 4. Wash 5. Texas 6. Stanford 7. U$C (proffesional) 8. UC Berkeley 9. Santa Clara 10. Florida 11. LSU 12. Ohio St. (undefeated...untested) 13. Purdue 14. Wisconsin 15. Hawaii 16. Tennessee 17. BYU 18. Ohio 19. Cal Poly 20. Utah 21. Michigan (see Ohio St.) 22. New Mexico St. (see Michigan) 23. San Diego 24. Pepperdine (best 4-6 team in the land! Tough schedule) 25. GT (finding their groove....) HM (no order) Duke, LBSU, San Francisco, Minnesota, Arkansas, UNI

Xplaya, a couple of questions:
If you are going to punish Hawaii to 15, why not give more credit to Cal Poly (with a win over your #5 Texas) at least next to if not above Hawaii? 19 is too low for that team.
Pepperdine, as well, should be in that same range.
Tell me about GT, Duke, and San Fran, please. I think the ACC isn't on many people's radar yet, especially with the SEC making so much noise this year.
New Mexico State, although, you claim is untested, has some quality wins over Sac State among others. I agree they should be in the mix, with Michigan.

It wasn't so much punishing Hawaii as rewarding the other teams (kind of a combination) 2. Pepp gets punished...despite losing to very good teams...they are still losing. If when they start winning, they'll move up. 3. New Mexico St, yes has beaten Sac st., and others, but I'm not really sold (on them or their competition, yet) undefeated is undefeated..same with Mich....but better comp....didn't they beat USD? My HM are kind of like...."keep on the radar" teams...and there could be more: San Fran....good record don't really know too much... GT:8-2 only losses 1st match of season to Miss st. (MSU had a few matches under their belt) and 3-1 @ Kentucky (38-36 in the 3rd) solid win against UNI other comp avg....offensively impressive ala 2003 team Duke: 7-2 win vs. ASU only losses to Penn St and Notre Dame. Great defensive team Jury is still out on the ACC I think the top is very solid the bottom very bad!

Because if it is an attempt at the AVCA poll, then it comes down to the fact that the AVCA does not generally reward teams, it punishes teams that lose. Cal Poly had a win and a loss. The only real way it moves up is if the teams in front of it lost. Maybe then you could see Cal Poly switch places, but even that is a stretch.
