Poor Florida! The top 6 teams rearranged their positions, and Florida stuck at 7!
But I doubt it matters that much since Florida will be home for the regionals.
I agree with Saywho that UW/Stanford and UCLA/USC will only firm their rankings or flip around depending on outcomes of the matches. It will be interesting if 4 Pac-10 teams remain in the top 6 by the selection time, how does the selection committee allocate these teams through the regionals.

Voters don't like Florida. At least this week they gained points, instead of losing like they did last week. Apparently, the crappier the opponent, the more points you get.

Florida is stuck at 7 cause the voters refuse to place them above UCLA, who swept them or any other Pac-10 team. Nevermind that other teams can be ranked in front of teams they lost to, but whatever. It's no big deal cause Florida is hosting and they'll get a chance to prove they should've been higher or prove that the voters had them ranked correctly.

I'm encouraged that Nebraska isn't the only team getting #1 votes. And in a switch from the usual alleged Pac-10 bias, many voters aren't voting a Pac-10 team number 1 because nobody's dominating the conference. Apparently it's too much of a stretch for them to believe that 3 or 4 teams could all be that good and all be at the same level. I can respect that. I happen to think they're mistaken, but I think it's a very reasonable position to take. What? Biased? Who, me?

It's pretty evident that the top four are very even. The next two weeks will shake that out! Correct me if I'm wrong but the next group of six seem to not be as strong as in the past??!!

I figured that Neb would stay at 1, but I was expecting the first-place votes to be more spread out than that. The Huskers still held on to 40 of them.
St. John's breaks the top 25 -- congrats to them... is this their first time in the poll?

Cal's a good team that had a number of conference teams above them on the ropes and didn't deliver a knockout punch... UCLA is beginning to hear that same complaint. Oregon looked like a tournament team before being swept on the road (error fixed here) by UA and ASU... do they have to beat Stanford or Cal to be in?

Oregon should get in, regardless.

Florida should have moved up already. You know what, I am kind of liking this position UF is in right now. It reminds me of the basketball team: we lost players and many people were doubting we could play strong and yet we have found a way to prevail. I really think UF wants to turn heads and show the volleyball community that they are for real. People know they are good but expect them to fall short as they have been doing the past few years, I really think this year is different, I think UF has a great shot at going all the way.

The Selection committee wants the following arrangement one thru 7: Nebraska, Pac-10 #1, Pac-10 #2, Penn St., Florida or maybe some else, Pac-10 #3, Pac-10 #4. What they don't want is a Pac-10 power team at #4 or #8. This gives Nebraska best chance of reaching the finals at home which hypes excitement, promotes the sport, and hopefully boosts TV ratings.

Wow - Nebraska loses to an unranked team and they only drop 38 points. Penn State lost to Wisconsin, who at that time was ranked 14, and they lost 115 points. Nebraska lost a 5 game match to unranked Oklahoma. Penn State was swept by 23rd ranked Ohio State. Penn State's loss to Wisconsin was 2 weeks ago.
