Wow - Nebraska loses to an unranked team and they only drop 38 points. Penn State lost to Wisconsin, who at that time was ranked 14, and they lost 115 points. Nebraska lost a 5 game match to unranked Oklahoma. Penn State was swept by 23rd ranked Ohio State. Penn State's loss to Wisconsin was 2 weeks ago. Neb lost to Colorado...

I'm more interested in the next NCAA RPI. When does it come out?? I think that was a one-shot deal during the season. I believe the next one will come out in January.

UW is #1 in Pablo and RichKern.
RKPI still has Nebraska #1 (UW is #10).

No top ranked team that loses to an unranked should be allowed to retain their top ranking when there are other more deserving teams out there.. I think that there are 40 coaches out there that aren't too bright, yep, Mary Wise included. Considering who the Huskers have played, and now who they have lost to, compared to the PAC 10 teams that are also vying for the top position....Washington, Stanford, USC, and UCLA, one has to wonder if they are voting with their heads between their butt cheeks. That's why I've always said not to make much of the poll, It's a mere formality that isn't taken seriously by the voting coaches. We shouldn't take it seriously either.

Certainly I was a bit suprised. I thought they might even drop to #2 but certainly not retain the Number 1 ranking. I wish they would have dropped to at least #3 myself. Take the heat off. Now these other teams are going to be doubly ticked off and even more motivated.

Some of the voters should have to take a competency test before voting because they are as clueless are Gorf. ;D

but when #2 and #3 lose in the same week, both being swept, one on their home court, it's easier to justify keeping #1 at the top.

Penn State's loss was on the road at Ohio State not at home.
