Love the old Rainbow Warrior logo on skeleton's profile.
I like that everyone is overlooking the Wahine. The Bows lose Croson but they bring back their best player in Hartong, and have a pretty veteran team with Uiato, Longo, and Kastl. I believe both Vorster and Adolpho will be big for Hawaii this season. If they can get Taylor into the mix early, that will be beneficial.
I don't see the Longhorns blowing the Bows out at the SSC at all. Yes Texas is the defending National champs and they have a lot of talent but the match is at the SSC where the Bows typically play very well, and this is a proud Wahine Volleyball team. Looking forward to the outcome and a good volleyball match.

Evaluating the posts of Hawaii chances of beating Texas seems to be very, very, very slim. That was about the same situation when Hawaii went to Austin in 2005(?) and beat them 3-1. Never say never. People are writing Hawaii off because Croson is no longer on the team and Texas is the defending champs. First match out of the gates at the SSC, I like Hawaii's chances.

So it isn't really about the actual level and players on the teams on the whole, but rather that it's the first week of the season and it's played on Hawaii's home floor. Hmmmm...if only that same logic could be applied in other years when it comes to selection sunday

Texas may be a more talented team but better talent doesn't always win matches. This will be Texas's first match after winning the title. First match away againt a good Hawaii team playing on its homecourt in front of its fans. I see nothing wrong with the comments I made earlier. You can disagree if you want but much like the Honeybadger,I don't care, don't give a %*$#.

anyone who thinks that Hawaii will NOT be the favorite to win the BWC this coming year is in for one big surprise...they will be the unanimous #1 pre-season pick and will be very difficult to beat....Long Beach may be the only team with even a shot at beating them, and that will be a bit of a long shot at that

They're very athletic and so physical.....I'm actually kinda nervous thinking about it. Win or lose, I think it will be very good for the Wahine in the long run. Also that tournament at Wichita State....I think it's good that Dave schedule that during conference play!

Soooo does anyone know if Hawaii recruited any more girls at the recent tournament. It was supposedly a big one! Recruits for 2013? 2014? or even 2015?

Hawaii is looking to bring in 6'5 lefty opposite Hu Jinghua in 2014. She is tearing it up in Chinese prep leagues and expressed an interest in playing in the United States where, as she put it, "there is handsome Hawaiian man in stand."

is Croson off to Arizona officially? Can she play this year? Unless things changed, Croson is enrolled in Summer II session starting July 8 at Arizona and no she didn't receive an official release from UH, so she's not eligible to play indoor this Fall. I have no info about the Spring beach season next year.

Of course Jane Croson can't play this season! Hawaii is playing Arizona this season....probably won't see Hawaii play Arizona for awhile since Croson will be there.....Like Hawaii won't schedule matches with Arizona for their tournaments. And does anyone know more about that girl from China? Any volleyball videos that shows her skills? I am really curious and wanna see how good she is!
