The box with ghost image came up on mine too, found Sunderland on the 3rd or 4th link to replace.

Watching Lucarelli's performance this match, I think he's already one of the top OH in the world. I'd rather have him on a team over Anderson.

Big-time Olympic final rematch today. I imagine Brazil will win easily. The only thing more fun than getting predictions right is getting them wrong! Though it looks like Brazil will close it out. Far from easily, however.

Whew, when Muserskiy dials in that serve it's nasty, but Brazil evens it up 1-1 Does anyone else have an annoying box in the middle of the screen? I'm debating whether or not it bugs me enough to change from Sunderland's commentary. Get Adblock. Worst you'll get is tiny little X's and maybe a little white text on the screen. Hardly even noticeable.

Zhilin has a nice serve, saw him a little previously in a Russian club.

Nice match, i have the feeling its Russian's turn to dominate in the next several years? Italy might be a dark horse also.

Then I'm not sure what you're talking about. I didn't notice anything askew on the stream I was watching.

I wonder if Paul Sunderland has ever been a coach. He really sounds like he knows what he's talking about.

Those chippy line calls in the 4th set of the Bulgaria/Argentina match really leave a sour taste in my mouth. Why do we not have neutral-nation line judges? Travel costs? Bah. Bring them on the same plane as the R1 and R2 if it's that important. I've on rare occasions seen the R1 and R2 be compatriots, so I don't think there's any issue there. But we've got to have neutral line judges. And it's not even about conscious, conspicuous 'home cooking,' at least not entirely. If you're working a match with a team you (quite naturally and understandably) favour, you're bound to see the split-second in/out calls going the way you as a 'fan' want them to.
I wonder, are there any rules in the NCAA against officials working matches involving schools they attended?
I know in Major League Baseball, there's an umpire who has a brother that pitches. That umpire isn't allowed to work any games involving his brother's team. I really don't think they think he'd just purposely kick every call to benefit his brother's team, it's just that him working those games would make it very difficult for him to be impartial. Hell, it's the same reason surgeons don't operate on family members.
I guess it just makes too much sense to implement :\ But there will apparently be a replay challenge system in place starting tomorrow (technical issues with it tonight).

I so agree with this statement. I wish they'd implement a system like tennis with the ball tracking technology and challenges at least for tournament finals. That way if one team feels like a call was bad, they can challenge it. Maybe 3-4 per set?

I wonder if Paul Sunderland has ever been a coach. He really sounds like he knows what he's talking about. I like how he mentioned Rezende being on the team he beat for gold in 84. In general I love how he calls players out on errors that "should never happen," multiple times in sets/matches. He and Marlowe, more specifically, used to be very critical of players in old school AVP.
