So I am binge watching Survivor and I noticed something. Over the 39 days of competition, for the most part guys beard grows out. So why are women armpits still clear? Clean as the whistle. Think I only saw some armpit hair last season in Philippine, for the most part all clean. Curious! Ratings.

Everyone's covered in filth and fighting for their lives, yet all of the women have good manicures and shaved legs and armpits. So odd.

Finished a Season 26...Caramoan or Fan vs. Favorites 2. Started season 27, Blood & Water and it’s another fan vs fav, kind of. Now its returning players and their loved ones. It’s an interesting mix, but c’mon let’s see 20 new players fight it out. I think Rupert said this is 4th appearance in the Survivor series...yawn!

Watched one episode of Tiger King (Netflix), which was more than enough. I saw the whole series. It was...overrated, there are some parts worth watching, but in the end I can't help but leave with a feeling of disappointment. The show is about the strange and shady characters that populate the exotic animal trade. "Joe Exotic" at first comes off as an eccentric and slightly unhinged but otherwise harmless redneck. Then as the series progress we see his darker side and his threats and paranoia against Big Cat Rescue's Carol Baskin which lead ultimately to his fate. But Joe is far from the only one in the show who appear to have a dubious background. The insane and downright criminal characters are amusing to watch for a while but ultimately disappointing because it loses the focus on the negative aspects of the exotic animal trade. Who knows, there might even be people encouraged to own tiger and lions after watching this.

The Kominsky Method Michael Douglas, Alan Arkin. Funny show. Liked it more than I thought I would. A lot of old actors, e.g., Ann-Margret. I wish women (and men) would refrain from cosmetic work on their face. It doesn't make them look younger. It just makes them look like they had a botched face job. Ann-Margret was soooooooo hot back in the day and I guess she doesn't want to age gracefully. Ann-Margret in The Kominsky Method. Hate to say it but even Alan Arkin is better looking than Ann-Margret.

I would agree that hair often has more impact than facial changes, but there are certainly 79-year-olds who have more wrinkles than producers think audiences enjoy seeing. As for the show, we watched the first season. I thought it had its moments but my wife didn't like it. I started the second season but gave up part way through the first episode. Maybe when I was younger I would have enjoyed the jokes. Death and dementia humor isn't as funny to me as it used to be, especially these days.

If there's one aspect of human culture that I like to be very judgmental about, it's cosmetic surgery.

Finished Survivor 27: Blood & Water
I admit having a loved one in the game throws a whole new element, makes it very interesting to watch!

I know some people who have gotten very good cosmetic surgeries, and the only reason I know that they had them is because they told me and/or I knew them beforehand. They're otherwise unnoticeable.

Finished Ozark Season 3. I think it might be the best season of the three. Great series and Ruth might be my favorite character.

I'm against the artificial alteration of a person's looks regardless of my awareness of such alterations. I can be against rape (or someone being a rapist) even though I don't know whether someone is a rapist. I understand there's a spectrum of artificial alterations from: application of natural product on one's face (e.g., avocado) <------------> surgeon cutting into a person's face and changing the structure by cutting into bone and flesh More on the left side is my mother who applies Cetaphil moisturizer on her face to maintain her youth and beauty. Leaning more toward the center are folks who had eyebrows tattooed simply because they did not naturally have eyebrows.

Hmm, I honestly don't care if people want to change their appearance, particularly when a skilled doctor does a good job. If they're unhappy with their nose or chin or whatever, and they have the means to do something about it, why do I care? But to each their own.
