If Florida earns a Top 4 seed, does anyone know if the Lem meets the requirements for an NCAA tournament Regional? I imagine it doesn't.

Kramer needs more playing time. She's looked better than King or Kellum in matches they've all played in. Kellum has more experience in Wise's gym and looked good against Oregon, but still seems too high error. Maybe she's putting too much pressure on herself. Kramer looks comfortable on the floor and imposing across the net.

I'm concerned with Moserez's size --she's listed at 5'9, but plays above the net like she's about 5'6. If she can run a quick offense and get Rhamat the right set height (where Dagostino often struggled), plus play exceptional defense, I'm less concerned. But, to really compete Huskey needs to develop quickly to provide more physicality at the net. Also curious if Greer will be a quick sub of the bench for Joseph, similar to Manz-Keene in '96. Same for Kellum and King. I can see Mary giving the upper classwomen confidence with the starting nod, then subbing quickly off the bench until there is a clear upper hand in talent -- she needs to groom at least one freshman OH to potentially start next year since Joseph will likely fill Holston's RS shoes (a more natural fit for Joseph, too). I would almost like to see them run a 6-2. But then again that's probably a lot to get used to 2 new setters instead of just one. But I agree with you, Monserez's blocking worries me. She isn't as athletic and physical at the net as Dagostino was. Guess we will see as the season goes on. Shainah is out this weekend with a minor ankle sprain so I expect Morgyn and possibly Mia to get a lot of playing time. Hopefully Shainah returns the following weekend. I am excited to watch her gain more confidence and really shine on the court. I think her and Snyder can really be something out there on the left side. Hush your mouth!! I still have nightmares about previous 6-2 iteration Florida ran. Finally, home matches this week and a chance to finally see the team for real. I just have a difficult time judging their play on a screen - big or small - so I'm really looking forward to this weekend.

After the 8 straight away games to start the season, Florida is in a pretty good place at 7-1.
Wins over Oregon (3-1), Michigan State (3-0) and Florida State (3-1) move Florida's Top 25 record to 3-1 so far in 2016. Unfortunately, Texas A&M is the only ranked team remaining on Florida's schedule. Hopefully SEC opponents step it up. Only team to take a set from Nebraska thus far and did so in the season opener.
Hitting %: .344 Assists/Set: 13.1 Blocks/Set: 2.6 Kills/Set: 14.0 Digs/Set: 12.7 SA/Set: 1.6 SE/Set: 2
Starting Lineup likely solidified for the year after Kramer's performance against FSU:
S - Allie Monserez - 5'9 - RS Sophomore - 11.7 assists/set, .375 in 16 TA MB1 - Rhamat Alhassan - 6'4 - Junior - .405 in 131 TA, 3.10 k/s MB2 - Rachael Kramer - 6'8 - Freshman - .656 in 32 TA, 1.69 k/s L - Caroline Knop - 5'8 - Junior - 3.33 digs/set RS - Alex Holston - 6'2 - Senior - .306 in 209 TA, 3.33 k/s OH1 - Carli Snyder - 6'1 - Junior - .344 in 244 TA, 3.89 k/s OH2 - Morgyn Greer - 6'3 - Freshman - .278 in 97 TA, 1.74 k/s
Gregory's defense and Hargreaves' serve have been and will continue to be significant impacts from the freshman class.
Not sure where Joseph fits in moving forward after coming back from her injury, but Greer will likely have a short leash.
First home games this weekend in the Lem against FAMU, Marshall and Jacksonville should be a nice warm up before SEC play.
Go Gators!

Check out this link with the most amazing VB pump up video I've ever seen! Really great work.
The slow motion shot of Monserez setting, Greer, Alhassan and Holston prepping to attack, Snyder in the middle of the court making herself an option and CK watching over it all gave me chiiiiiilllsss.
Also the shot of them amping themselves up for a match at the very end of the video was awesome too.

I never realized they played in such a small gym.

They typically don't. Their practice facility (Lemerand Center) has been converted to their home "gym" seating 700 for this season only as the O'Connell Center is being remodeled. The re-newed O'Connell Center is on track to be opened for basketball in December.

While prior results don't guarantee future success, I'm not sure why Florida should be considering changing what's working. The Gators lead the nation in hitting percentage as well as Monserez leads in assists per set. I'd think more of the same, and honing this newly formed series of connections, is far more important than experimenting with the 6-2.

My thoughts are, from watching Monserez gets exploited in the front row. Why not take a look at some options? Also allows for Huskey, the Freshman to get some time on the court, keeps Joseph engaged. When tournament time comes, teams are going to funnel sets over the UF setter With Kramer and Alhassan in the middle. Why not look at plugging the hole?

I have do not think Huskey is the problem solver. She's a taller block, but I'm not impressed with her setting skills.

But I also think our hitters make Monserez look good because I haven't been overly impressed with her setting either. But hey, leading in assists and hitting % so I guess I should just sit back and be quiet.

But I do assume she will be getting reps during Conf. play. wasn't worried about her block, with a 6-2.
