Nice win for Kerri/April. They dominated Set 1, then played a little uneven but still won Set 2. Kerri's sideout game looks much better, although passing is still very shaky.
Can't wait for the final

Jake and Casey just choked away their semis match. Looked awesome for the 1st 2/3rds of the 1st set, and then crapped out really.

You can also use Hola.org add-on. They make them for Firefox AND Chrome. You have to pick a different country to browse YouTube from to view the channel. I usually pick the UK.
I am excited for the Ladies Final. Hoping April/Kerri can finally nab one from THE EVIL ONE. Kerri has lost way too much to her post-Beijing for my liking. She use to dominate that creature. I've never cared much for Julianna either so I am glad Kerri got her for old times sake.

One more reason to hate the country v country model is we never got to see her and EY team up to take on Misty/Kerri.

I appreciate Larissa as a talent and athlete but I don't like her attitude on court or personality in general. The way she berates her partners and clowns around on court is kinda off-putting. Seeing them absolutely choke in London to April/Jen was amazing. It couldn't have happened to a nicer person.
I don't like the country vs. country model either. Tennis basically ignores that model and teams cross pollinate all the time and then switch back for the Olympics. In Rio, a lot of the best teams won't be even competing (together) in Rio because a lot of the best teams aren't from the same countries.

Kerri and April win again. After a while the pressure of hitting against Kerri sort of wore Larissa down. Thats three wins in a row and 4 of 6 this year. I think its time to say that Kerri/April are the best team in the world without a doubt. Whats scary is they have such clear avenues for improvement.
I think April is not hitting her hard jumper well right now and Kerri's passing is shaky, although was better these last two matches. Kerri's blocking and swing looked better this week. Against both Brazilian teams April could just put her 50/50 off a bad pass and Kerri was almost always getting the ball down.
This was the Brazilian's first tournament in a while and they did struggle against Canada so maybe they are rusty, but an impressive win nevertheless

YESS!! When they kept blowing leads in set 1 I was just all "Here we go again!!" Thank God they didn't allow themselves to choke again. That was a turn back the clock vintage blocking performance from Kerri. Even the shots she didn't block, she got enough of a piece on it to make Larissa think about it. She definitely caused a lot of Larissa's hitting errors.
Still, you can see where this team might cause some matchup problems in the future if the USA don't improve. Larissa was reading their sideout and making dig after dig. April's defense isn't anywhere close to that. Even when they were getting the digs, they weren't finishing the points. They constantly let Brazil back in it. Still, Brazil doesn't have Kerri's block or April's serve (and they do have Larissa's erratic hitting) which was the difference maker.
Also, if Kerri and April win Hamburg they just nudge ahead for the #2 seed (not that it truly matters) assuming Agatha/Barbs don't improve on their 12 best finishes.
I also would not be surprised if the Rio podium looks exactly like this.

Bruno/Allison choke away the tournament. Up 13-9 and 14-11 and they lose. Really awesome last point where Bruno got roofed, Allison saved with a kick, then the Dutch got blocked, covered and put it away for the tournament.

If they were, I'd have to say it would have been just as competitive as any FIVB Open and even Grand Slam.

The flip flopping over players and teams performance is like direction of the wind on here!

Sorry if I missed it, but I don't think anyone commented on Brazillian men's Cinci winners not even getting out of (grand slam) Moscow quali?

Bruno/Allison choke away the tournament. Alison* He choked so bad. Bruno barely saw any serves, guy is the best player in the world by far right now. Agreed on that last play, good stuff.
