A lot of athletes are douchebags.
As youngsters, they were bigger and stronger and faster. You think they sat still in class and were good little boys? Did they stay at home and spend time helping out mom and dad? Did they sit quietly at the library to do their homework? No, they were out and about picking on other smaller kids. It's more fun. Many grow out of that phase, especially if they have good parents who instill good values. Some never grow out of it.

What a way to end his swimming career. After all of those Olympic and swimming medals. Just wasted everything that he worked on for the past 10 years or so.
Feel bad for the other swimmers who are still in Rio and aren't allowed to leave.

His teammates have recanted and there's video. I'm thinking the story has been proven false ...
Lochte didn't suddenly become an a$s, btw. He's been working a lifetime on it.

Lochte "safe" in the USA, while cohorts still in Rio. He sure got out there quick - smart, but what's that say for some "teamwork". These guys best get themselves some good local lawyers - things in these countries aren't the same as in the good old USA. Lietuva, would certainly know that from that, being a part of the former Soviet Union. Things done a bit differently back then, and now in Rio as well. How does that saying go "nothing good ever happens after midnight" - or something like that. These guys messed up - no doubt. Live and learn, as this one is not going to end up with a simple slap in the face. Brazil not too happy about being offended in this manner in the press, and may be teaching these guys a lesson. |

These guys best get themselves some good local lawyers - things in these countries aren't the same as in the good old USA. Having IOC credentials is the next best thing to diplomatic immunity. Besides, the only possible thing the government could have against them would be filing a false police report, and I don't think they ever filed any report. |

I'm certainly not hoping for anything bad for these guys - legally, or any other way. But I'd bet a $1 they are going to end up sweating things out a little. We will see for sure the press will be over this more than some of the Hillary/Trump stuff. |
