Isn't Larson playing another two years in Turkey? From what I heard early this year she was in the process of getting a divorce. Hence going back to just Larson. yes I believe she got a divorce. So, as statutes above, retiring to start a family doesn't make sense.

Skylar and Patterson??? Seriously? That team wouldn't win an avp event. Casey isn't even a good blocker let alone a world class one. Skylar hasn't even proved that he can be a main draw avp player. This is how bad the situation is on the men's side. Give me two teams you think will make it to Tokyo.

Divorce sucks, so I hope that isn't happening to her.

What ever happened to Elaina Bergsma from Oregon? Quoted, what happened to her (beside what her us/italian wiki says, I have no idea of the quality of those teams)? Was she just that physically dominant as a NCAA player, but not so much as a pro? Was it due to the system/setter? Problems with the constant change of location? All/none of the above?

But Casey isn't a blocker and Skylar hasn't even taken the risk to ba an AVP player. The Crabbs, Taylor Crabb and Tri Bourne, Trevor Crabb and Tri Bourne, Ryan Doherty and Taylor Crabb, Guys like Phil, Nick, John Mayer may be too old or uninterested by then. It is tough to say. Theo Brunner may still be playing then. He obviously would pair up with someone and be in the running. Casey Patterson might still be playing but it would be as a defender.

yes I believe she got a divorce. So, as statutes above, retiring to start a family doesn't make sense. We're in a century where women can actually start families without husbands. Every century has been that century to some degree. Of course, we also live in a century where data show us that children growing up in single parent households tend to not do well socially or academically. They also have a much higher rated of incarceration. There are exceptions of course, and I'm sure you'll be quick to point them out. And then you'll probably say something about racism.

Does that data differentiate socioeconomic categories in the analysis?

Setters: Christenson, Shaw Middles: Holt, Jendryk, Smith OHs: Russell, Sander, Jaeschke, De Falco OPP: Anderson, Patch L: Shoji
Dependimg on Ma'a's development, I could see him being there too. Patch is a bit of a question mark, but we'll see.
Also, really wish Szerzen was American, but you can't always get what you want.

Still don't see a 35 year old smith making it. Players that make it past that age were usually former starters not backups. think Ma'a could make it over Shaw as backup because his serve is much better and could be used as a serving sub.

Wang-Orantes - libero Rolfzen - middle Lowe - right Robinson Glass (and Carlini --only because she's be dreaming of it--hope her dream comes true) I'd like to see Hunter, I don't think she gets enough credit, she is great setter, blocker, defense. Something tells me she's got other plans other than Olympics. Rolfzen - Foecke

Well I guess the thread title doesn't say a realistic 2020 roster...
