Happy for Kylie, in particular, but also the other seniors (Taylor, Alexis and Lauren). Hart looked like her game was stuck in the mud a couple of months ago but she has made wonderful strides as the season has progressed. I will miss Taylor's smile and lightning quick leaping ability. This team could win it all. Given all they have been through this year, that would somehow seem fitting. Go Gophers!

miller & the rest of the team have really improved their serving for the NCAAs which has fed the block & defense/transition for points. rollins has become a tool master even OOS which is a wonderful improvement. Is Rollins from Brainerd?

I for one could not be any happier for this entire team. Kilkelly has really stepped up her game. It saddens me that I cannot say the same for CC. For whatever reason, her struggles continue in the post season.
Another shout out. As I stated earlier in one of my posts, "It's Miller Timer". Much deserved recognition for her. Agree the Pac-12 has provided us with some outstanding transfer setters. Who will be the next one, if needed?
I too am wondering where Ruffda, Hart's #1 fan on volleytalk is. She is having her best year, no doubt. Congratulations to her and Miller for their much deserved recognition throughout the regions.
There is so much hype on other MB's in our conference. I am glad that both TayMo and Pittman are Gophers. The latter turning out to be one of the most all around MB's in Division 1 volleyball.
Rollins game has turned around and I did not know if that was going to happen this season. What a great honor for her....MVP.
Lastly, Samedy. Great improvements during regional play. Who would have thought, that we would be seeing her defense shine besides her offense, at this time of the season?
This team has shown us Gopher fans what the word TEAM is all about. They are peaking at the right time and may it continue in the FF.

I think, if I remember correctly, when it was announced that Hugh McCutcheons was going to be the next volleyball head coach at the U of MN, there were those who were questioning if he was capable of developing talent. They were not denying his coaching ability, but were really wondering if he could fulfill that challenge. Well, that question has been answered and more so this season. There is a total team effort to succeed going on right now. Hugh keeps saying it and the girls are believing it. The sky is the limit!!

Really happy for the whole team! I find myself being extra happy for Kylie Miller. Top rated setter out of Hs and just never really found her groove at UCLA, comes to Minnesota and starts to play really well and then injured for a large part of the season. Came back and leads the team to a final am 4. I thought she was really good today! She was great today. Was it me or did CC seem a bit off the last two days? I don't have the passing stats from the Louisville game cos it's not been coded yet but she passed a 1.88 against Florida and had a FBSO% of just 14%. For anyone unfamiliar with those numbers, a good Libero would expect a passing grade above 2.20 and a FBSO% above 45. The elite ball control players can pass 2.5s and FBSO over 50%. CC is normally solid, just thought she looked shaky. Yes, she definitely seemed off against Florida. Where do you get the passing stats?

My job means I have a log in to volleymetrics; the analytics site used by most D1 schools and national teams to evaluate their performance. Always happy to share data points here. If you ever want to know something specific, tag me.

I'm here. Just trying to "enjoy" the post-season without obsessing about Gopher flaws. This means staying away from the keyboard. I still believe this: Hey, this has been an entertaining season, hasn't it? You never know what you're going to get. Here's hoping the surprises to come are good ones, but I think we got our money's worth, no? Even more true, for me, today.

I think McCutcheon has proven himself as a developer of talent and a tactitian. The Gophers best chance against the Trees is to follow the game plan. I don't know why any player wouldn't choose to play for him. I realize that geographically Minnesota can be a tough spot to recruit for but we have the best coach.

Minnesota does have everything else though. Great athletic facilities, a great school for education and very supportive fans. Hugh is getting big recruits. It will continue I believe. Next years class is monstrous. I believe Hugh will get Minnesota a championship! It would be just peachy if it came as soon as next weekend!
