Illinois State is no slouch, they beat Illinois early in the season. They make me nervous. Just take care of business Badgers.

If the Illinois State that showed up at their own tournament shows up in Madison, that could be a more-challenging-than-expected match for the Badgers. I still think WI will win, of course

If any visitors to Madison this weekend are looking for food or entertainment suggestions, some of us locals would be happy to provide them. Just ask!

I've watched both UCLA and Wisconsin all season. Wisconsin will roll. UCLA is obviously a good team, and people like to highlight their sweep of Stanford (and rightfully so, but KP was out, Hentz, McClure and Fitz hadn't practiced at all leading up to that match), but unless Wisconsin totally collapses, they'll be through and hosting the 2nd weekend.

Wisconsin should be on alert for an upset. UCLA has Stanford under their belts. Not expecting an upset but this gets some of my attention as a subregion to watch. Sorry but Stanford without KP and with an ailing Fitzmorris is not Stanford. I watched that match and UCLA's defense was formidable, but Stanford's attack was pretty lame. It's not that I'm not worried, but let's put that win in context.

Washington beat Wisconsin with a trio of hitters somewhat similar to what UCLA offers. UCLA has less of a blocking force then what Washington offers which should open it up more for Haggarty (Rettke will get her kills regardless). UCLA has the best PAC digging OH not named Nunneviller in the conference, that being Simo. Barry hasn't been a slouch at digging either. I think it will be a match-up hell for Wisconsin IMHO, and a very explosive and fun match to watch. UCLA a tranferred Gates away from pulling off the upset?

All true, but our team was in relative disarray at this point in their season. Hoping WI can focus on shutting down a hitter or two and rely on their diverse offense and superior defense and block to pull this out.

UCLA has a trio of really good pin hitters. May, Hadrych (she has a cannon) and Simo. The only problem with UCLA however is that their libero is meh. That's hardly their only problem.

Is Mosser still seeing playing time at UCLA or did they finally pull her? She has been largely ineffective this year from what I have seen.
